I am 45 years old and yes, they are much younger than me but it is fun to watch the twenty somethings trying to figure it all out!!
I guess for me it is kind of a comedy show? Not that I don't feel for them struggling through their issues but I know that for the most part it will all work out for them.
Now, onto the fun!!!!
Tara Harper!
The little blonde that lives down the street from George W. Bush. I loved her debating if it was cool to have Secret Service around or if the terrorist might be a little too close for comfort!!! Oh, and she is a bright little blonde too. Did you know that they have a 'Big Hair Day' in Texas and it is a National day. Sweetie, is it a State Day or a National Day?? Here let me clear it up! In 1993, Governor, Ann Richards of Texas declared a 'Big Hair Day'. That would be a STATE DAY. Now, little Tara is all Texas and she wants a strapping cowboy and she just thinks everyone wants a cowboy. Poor Tara she becomes so baffled when her buddy Drew says, "Not me, I'm looking for a surfer dude." Tara looked a little horrified. I mean the surfer dude might be close to the guys with Tattoos offering to drive them because they had too much to drink. Oh, and Tara and Drew were horrified by the muscle bound tattoo guys. Tara was SURE they snuck into her STATE!! Now, don't let little Tara fool you. She might want a strapping Cowboy and she might claim she bleeds RED.WHITE. and BLUE. but Drew reminded her that she wasn't all USA. He aptly informed her she drives a car that is NOT AMERICAN. Drew had no problem saying he will drink a good wine and Texas does not produce such a product and I got the impression he tolerates California wines. But, please, Miss Little Tara fed her RESCUE doggie off of WEDGEWOOD plates!!! Yeah, I know it is just a plate but sorry, those plates are not cheap and feeding a dog of off them??? And, by the way they ARE not AMERICAN MADE!!! C'mon even Tara's friend thought she was a little wackadoodle.
Drew Ginsburg!
Only natural we chat about him next! Tara's buddy! Drew seems to be way worried about his name. Gosh, I feel bad because I didn't even recognize his name. Oh, well, I guess anybody who is anybody knows his family name so poor Drew has to live with it. In addition, to his rough life of pushing buttons LOL. No, no, that is a joke. Drew lives in one of the most high end places in Dallas and he is blessed with the life of pressing a button and ordering whomever answers the button call to make his wish come true. Oh, Gosh, I cannot tell a lie I would love to have those BUTTONS!!! C'mon be honest, room service EVERY DAY!!! I would be in HEAVEN!!! I want Drew's life just for the BUTTONS!!
Honestly, Drew seems a little odd but I liked him. I know, it is just the first episode!! He definitely has some body issues and I feel for him because he seems to have used some weird measures to fix the problem but people with money get to do all kinds of stuff. Something, tells me Drew is still struggling with his sexuality. He came out at a very late age, he mentioned Church and laughed and he seemed EXTREMELY uncomfortable with the "What is your type" conversation with Tara. I hope Drew has wonderful family support! I will say Tara seems like a great friend!!
Glenn Pakulak!
Oh, my gosh, Glen really, really, REALLY, likes himself. I would say the total opposite of Drew, Glenn has enough SELF-ESTEEM for all of us LOL. He cracks me up. Glenn is a football player, well, a punter, but still, he makes good money in the NFL. I am sure he is glad the Lockout is over. Of course, he is young but for Athletes,well, their shelf life is short. Glenn is smart and he is working all angles, including the ladies. Although, he just got out of a 4 year relationship and he keeps talking about how much he doesn't want to settle and this makes me think maybe, just maybe, he doesn't like the single life as much as he proclaims. BUT, it was the first episode, I need to see more of GLENN, hey, take your mind out of the gutter (but he can keep taking his shirt off, I don't mind)!!
Courtney Kerr!
Oh, my this young lady is a mess!! Here is the problem. Courtney is almost 30 and she had her life planned and guess what??? Yeah, you know life! Well, those of us in our 40's and older KNOW LIFE WELL. Forget PLANS!!! Poor Courtney. She expected to have a year long engagement. You know, with the big engagement party. Then, the gazillion bridal showers. Of course, Courtney was going to have a huge ass TEXAS STYLE wedding, 1,000 people by the age of 24. She would then have her first child by 26, with the beautiful baby shower, then the christening party and so on. By 30 she figured she would be on kid number 3 maybe 4 if she started a little earlier. Poor Courtney, she never thought that at age 29, she would be single, working her ass off and still searching for mister RIGHT!!! The bigger problem, she knows who Mr. Right is and he won't step up to the plate!
Matt Nordgren!
Oh, Matt is the College Quarterback that had the injury which prevented professional dreams. Men, they have such a hard time dealing with such blows. Anyway,Matt hangs with Glenn, you know the NFL football player! Matt is dating around and refuses to be called a player. He has a philosophy about being a player. In his mind a 'player' is a person that plays games and Matt claims that he is upfront with his intentions. Oh, guys, they love to use the "I'm up front" strategy. WHATEVER. Matt, is a player and he loves the fact that girls are throwing themselves at him. I don't see the attraction. I think Courtney should move on and I have a feeling Neil is going to be a casualty of their little "we are just friends" game!
Neil Skylar!
A young woman that flew the coop to try her luck in Los Angeles and New York City. Neil is a singer. It seems that Neil and Matt are friends with benefits but Neil has a child. Neil is going to have to figure out how to balance being young and dating and raising a baby. I can tell you one thing, Neil better not look to Courtney for support. It is kind of sad when women don't support each other and instead rip each other apart but jealousy can cause people to behave in odd ways. Courtney is so jealous of Neil she can hardly see straight so her only recourse is to put down Neil's parenting. At this point, it is too early to comment. In the first episode I thought Courtney was harsh. Neil is young and I do believe mothers/parents have a right, even a need to go out and have some fun without their child.
I hope you give this group a chance. It is nice to watch something different!!!
