Real Housewife Fans!
I think Real Housewives of New York City is fast approaching the end of their season. Honestly, I don't keep track like the other bloggers, I know shame on me, I think there are two episodes left? And then the Reunion show and I haven't heard but will the Reunion be in two parts? Yeah, I am not the blogger to come to for 'up to date' information like that but if you are an avid fan than most of you already have the low down or you know exactly how to find it!
I am a blogger who just likes to chat or spout off my thoughts! In addition, I am a television viewer that has a habit of viewing things in phases! Yeah, I am an odd ball. I go through my 'kicks' as I like to say it. I watch a lot of Reality shows and then I love to watch a lot of my old movies and then I switch to comedies and then over to Criminal shows, like "Criminal Minds" and "Law and Order"! At times, I turn the television off completely BIG GASP!! I read!
So, what PHASE am I in right now? Well, I am hodge podging it. I read a little. Watch a comedy here and there. I have been watching movies on my computer!!! Unfortunately, I have watched VERY little Reality television. Matter of fact I just got caught up on The Real Housewives of New York City and Flipping Out. Otherwise, I have watched ANY Reality television. NONE. Typically, I keep Bravo on as BACKGROUND noise and I don't even do that anymore. Not that I dislike Reality television, no, I still enjoy it but I just have ventured away from it a tad bit. I do have many of the Housewives on Twitter and Facebook and that is fun but overall The Reality Phase is on the backburner. Not sure for how long? Maybe it is a summer thing? I just don't know?
Okay, So the Real Housewives of New York City!
I really believe the Brunettes had a plan this season. They wanted to take down THE BLONDES!! The plan was to gossip about the Blondes. They were going to try to make the Blondes look like drunk sluts that had no class and attack both married women.
It is funny how we always see the Brunettes gossiping about the Blondes and we have yet to see a get together with the Blondes gossiping about the Brunettes?? Jill having a painting party?? Who believed that scene? I loved the way Bravo zoomed in on LuAnn's suede boots! I didn't believe Jill was having a painting party but the boots were a nice touch to prove the point! I think it was the producers way of saying, "yeah, we were not fooled either."
Oh, question,Did anyone else think that Kelly overreacted to Simon wanting to meet with Jill? I mean, Kelly flipped out. Kelly has some weird issues. Does Kelly truly believe that a married woman can't meet with a married man? It is 2011, right? In the context of why Simon was asking to meet with Jill I felt it was appropriate. Kelly's reaction was BIZARRE! Even more Bizarre was Alex and Kelly having lunch? That scene was WACKED. Kelly trying to play the game that they are concerned for Alex and then Kelly was warning Alex, WEIRD! I loved the 'ICE you out', threat. Does Kelly, LuAnn, Jill and Cindy think they have that much power? Delusional.
So let us switch over to the reason for the meeting with Jill and Simon. I think Simon wanted to discuss the whole Hate Blog thing and then in a moment of anger his inappropriate 'watch out' comment happens. Simon steps up to the plate and apologizes for the comment but somewhere along the lines Jill has switched gears to 'mean' tweeting and cyber bullying. Jill is a 40 something year old woman who has resources at her disposal to handle bullying. Sorry but I have a very hard time swallowing Jill and Kelly bitching about this Cyber bullying shit! I have followed Simon since he began tweeting and I can honestly say I have never seen him bully Jill Zarin or anyone else, for that matter. He states his opinion. It may not be what Jill wants to hear but that is by no means bullying. Simon typically answers questions about the show and /or castmates for a period of time and then he stops. What is sad is I have seen him actually defend all the ladies at one time or another. To be honest, I think the Brunettes thought this would be a way to 'Ice Out' Simon and Alex. In addition, they picked a topic that people were in an uproar about BUT see, people don't want KIDS to be bullied. Most people feel adults can handle a bully. In addition, there is a difference between bullying and disagreeing with a person. A couple of 'heated' or even 'mean' tweets does not make a person a bully. I am sure many of us have our moments of speaking in anger or tweeting in anger with a person but that doesn't make us a bully. Or if someone asks your opinion on something a few times and you tweet it that doesn't make you a bully. Personally, I think Jill and Kelly are too sensitive for Twitter. They need to block and move on. Here is the old saying, "You can't control someone else's behavior but you can control yours." Meaning, Jill and Kelly cannot and should not tell anyone what to Tweet but they have the right to block and ignore!
Kelly baffles me? Kelly claims she wants to find a man and get married and have more children. Yet, Kelly adores LuAnn? Not so sure about her and Cindy? Oh, and it is clear why Kelly and Jill get along so well too. Kelly plays the daughter role so well! If you notice to be friends with Jill you have to let Jill feel she is taking care of you. Okay back to Kelly wanting love and LuAnn her idol! (this makes me want to insert finger down my throat and puke) Kelly goes on and on about how LuAnn has handled her divorce with such class and she admires LuAnn's ability to transition her life with ease and at the same time Kelly digs at Sonja for not letting go of her 'married lifestyle'.
Listen, I only see what is presented to us on a television show but Sonja's Burlesque skit was very revealing in my eyes. Sonja used a creative outlet to show her soul. Artist do this all the time. Listen to the lyrics of songs. Pink, Eminem, just to name a few. Unfortunately, Americans do not get Burlesque. It is an old art form and it started in Great Britain in the 1840's then sailed across to America in the 1860's where it found a decent level of success! Anyway it is a bawdy form of humor and way to make fun of something that is not so funny! If you listened closely to Sonja's skit she was bearing her soul. Sonja was talking about a divorce that cut her heart out and changed her life in many ways. Sonja goes on to talk about searching for love in all the wrong places and trusting all the wrong people. I think some of us women can relate, maybe some of us has experienced it or have had a friend that went through the same thing. If you ask me Sonja's burlesque skit is more from the heart than LuAnn's pathetically created two autotuned 'make me money' songs! I much rather listen to an artist putting their heart out on the table anyday than listen to crap on autotune with catchy little lyrics! Even Simon's song is trying to make a statement compared to LuAnn's music, what a joke LuAnn has become!!
Kelly has no sympathy for Sonja but yet she admires LuAnn?? Sorry, I wonder about LuAnn? LuAnn seemed completely unfazed by her divorce?? Kelly trying to prove that LuAnn had a good life with the Count by forcing LuAnn to tell the Prince William 'meeting' story?? Oh, and then Kelly babbled on and on how great LuAnn's life was and yet LuAnn had no trouble giving it up makes LuAnn 'real' and not superficial! WHAT THE HELL?? Did anyone else laugh their asses off during that scene? In my opinion, LuAnn seemed to get over her husband of sixteen years with no problem AND TO ME THAT IS A PROBLEM!!! Lightbulb moment KELLY!!
Then again, LuAnn lives 2 to 3 days a week in the city with her new lover while her High School children stay in the Hamptons!! Sounds like a blast!! LuAnn's divorce was a little too easy or let's just say LuAnn is proclaiming it was easy. Sonja is MORE real!! She is being honest about adapting from a very GOOD lifestyle but more importantly Sonja has made it clear that she trusted her husband and her heart was broken. LuAnn won't even admit that the Count hurt her and to be honest I am not sure he did? Something tells me the marriage was over way before the divorce, especially since LuAnn moved on so easily. Who admires such a divorce? That means you admired the false marriage before???
Now, Kelly claims that she is good friends with Cindy? Really? Cindy who CLAIMS she has no interest in finding a man! I love women like Cindy. BITCHES that can't get a man so they play the "I am happy with my career and kids and don't NEED a man." I don't NEED a man either but I am so glad I have wonderful MAN. My children have grown up and are living their lives. A career doesn't talk with you or climb into to bed with you. I don't care who you are but as human beings it is nice to have a special someone and Cindy is BULLSHITTING herself and making a fool of herself when she says she is 'not interested'. Human beings love to be loved and love to love!
Oh, and I am sorry but Cindy should not have had children. I did not find the scene with her parents at the restaurant funny or cute. I think it is sad when a mother has to call an employee to come and get their child so they can eat with their parents. Just because Cindy has money and can afford to spoil the children doesn't mean she isn't a bad mother. I hate calling another mother BAD or NEGLIGENT but Cindy lacks serious parenting skills and she should take a class. Her parenting is not funny or cute. Spoiled and neglected children turn out as rotten as poor and neglected children do. Neglect is neglect! If Cindy was that frazzled at one lunch with the grandparents and had only ONE of her children with her that is a serious sign of negligent parenting!
Well, since we are talking about parenting let us move right into Ramona and Avery! Oh, Avery is a spoiled, only, child but you can tell she has had rules and parent involvement! I loved when Avery was whining about wondering if her parents were coming home. My Grandpa always said, "Don't let the cops interview your kids they will land you in jail." Meaning, boy they stretch the truth! We were home ALL the time with our children but the second we went out we got the phone call, "Where are you? You went to the movies and dinner without us?" With an accusatory tone and like they were left stranded. Half the time they had plans but the second we made plans well, they wanted to go with us?? On what planet? Oh, and then we would get this, "You never take us out!" Um, they were always out with their friends and they never wanted to go with us. My point I knew exactly how Ramona felt with Avery.
Oh and half the time they are on their phones but the second their father takes a client call they love to bitch. See, with teenagers and young adults it is ALL ABOUT THEM!!! You must focus on them and if you don't well then they will tell you "YOU NEVER GIVE US ATTENTION" As we sit there thinking our last 23 years have been nothing but about our kids LOL!! Anyway, in the end it was sweet when Avery shared her actual feelings about her mom and how she admires Ramona.
I loved watching LuAnn and Victoria with the driving lesson. That was a great mother/daughter moment and Victoria had fun making Luann sweat a little!! Oh, we all sweat when teaching the TEENAGER how to drive!!
Jill heading off to see Ally. Now, that scene cracked me up! It seemed to be so Jill! Hopping the train and going to have lunch with her daughter!! I think Ally had fun 'playing' with Jill and the cameras about the sex column but it was cute. Of course, the mother/daughter shopping was fun too!
I enjoy the light moments on the Reality shows and I like it when they show the women with their families they actually seem more relaxed, the only exception is Cindy. Unfortunately, I think Cindy did the show for her business and she seems very uncomfortable on camera. I think she is too neurotic for the show!
One last note about Simon and Alex. I noticed that a lot of commentators say that Simon has no business being so involved in the show and the other Housewives, especially the Brunettes seem to be on that campaign too BUT if you followed the Real Housewives of New York City from it's origins Alex and Simon were always a team compared to the other Housewives. The First season Simon was VERY INVOLVED and it was discussed and Alex and Simon made it clear that their marriage is a strong partnership. Over the years we have seen this marriage and we understand the dynamics. Every marriage is different and what works well for one might not work well for another but Alex would have trouble filming without Simon because of their lives and the show is built around each housewife's life, correct? I mean, now that Bethenny Frankel is married and Jason is very much apart of her day to day life could you imagine him not being apart of her filming? Personally, I think that is what brought down The Miami Housewives. Those women would not share their 'true' lives and after a while it becomes obvious. I understand Sonja not wanting her daughter on the show but it is getting harder to not see the parenting side of her? Kelly has kept her girls to a minimum, again, I understand but Kelly brings nothing else to the table? No personal life? The Housewives are not sharing their lives which was The Main reason I enjoyed Orange County in the beginning.
Hey,Maybe that is why I am going through a phase? A phase of watching very little of reality television! In the end whatever I watch has to have substance. Some heart, some fun, some drama and I have to be able to relate to it! I am just not relating to the Housewives anymore!
And your thoughts?????
