The Real Housewives of New York City! Episode 6 "The Mask Has Two Faces"

Ramona's Photo Shoot!
The Real Housewives of New York City (RHONY) opens with Ramona taking photo shots for her skin care products.  Ramona in her interview explains that she is fully aware that the public buys her products because of her in addition to them liking the product.  Therefore, Ramona says, "Who better to represent it than me?" And she shrugs her shoulders.  While Ramona is getting ready for the photo shoot she explains that she is nervous about doing the shoot and she knows that modeling is not her area of expertise.  Ramona compliments models and says that it is not an easy job.  She is anxious for Sonja to show up for support.  Ramona tells everyone around that she needs Sonja to help relax and lighten her up because she feels stiff and unnatural in front of the camera.  It seems to me that Ramona is using good business sense and she knows her weaknesses.  Therefore, she has asked a supportive friend to come and help her out.  I can think of a time or two that I have asked a friend to be at an event for support.  In addition, Ramona has hired a professional photographer.  A person that is known in the business and has reputable credentials.  So, between a supportive friend and hiring, Andrew Coppa, Ramona probably feels she has covered all her bases to make her photo shoot a success.  Honestly, I think Andrew Coppa had it all under control, don't you?  It was nice of Sonja to pop in but that photographer had it all under control and he waited patiently while Ramona and Sonja chatted LOL.

By the way,I loved Sonja's Ralph Lauren jeans, she looked fabulous in those jeans.  Sonja claimed it was the jeans, so I want the jeans LOL.

Cindy and Jill Chat!
Jill goes over to Cindy's home and the most awkward greeting happens.  Jill critiques Cindy's home. She tells Cindy that her home is for babies and not entertaining and that is OK!  You know if Jill told me my house wasn't for entertaining and it was a baby home and I could fix it up later, I think I would tell Jill to "KISS MY ASS".  I don't get Jill?  Does, she think it is appropriate to critique a person's home?  Newsflash Jill, "IT IS NOT!"  Anyway, Bravo cuts to Jill's interview and she claims the apartment could be neater but poor Cindy has four nannies and 18 assistants and Jill is surprised Cindy is not medicated.  Wow, Cindy has a rough life! (SARCASM) Bravo cuts back to the visit while Jill is getting a tour of the home, all the nannies and assistants, one of the babies starts to get really fussy and Cindy hands it off to the nanny and her and Jill go and have muffins.  Gosh, how I wish I could have just handed my little urchins off to the nannies when they fussed and had muffins and tea with the gals (SARCASM) While Cindy and Jill are talking you can hear the child fussing and Cindy is not fazed.  I don't know about you but  I was fazed when my children fussed, call me crazy!
Anyway, Cindy and Jill obviously do not know each other all that well at this point in filming because Cindy asks Jill about Ally.  Jill informs Cindy that Ally is in college and she is an empty nester and a Grandma.  Jill being a Grandma freaks Cindy out because they are the same age and Cindy has babies.  Cindy seems to think that it is odd, Jill being a Grandma.  Well, not really.  Although, it does seem to be a new thing, have babies late in life but I guess if you have nannies and the nannies get up through the night well, go for it.  But,I am going to be brutally honest for a moment, I think it is sad that, we, AMERICANS, value the almighty dollar so much that it is important to make money first, children last and then hire help to raise them.  Yes, the nights were long with my children but I am glad I have the memories of holding, feeding and rocking my children through the night.  They are my memories and no amount of money can replace them.
Back to the ladies chatting.  Jill tries to segue into gossip.  Now, immediately what went off in my head was Jill claiming she was staying out of the drama and staying away from gossip?  Jill said, "What's going on with you and the other ladybugs?"  Jill giggled weird when she asked it and she had trouble with not looking at the camera, like it was a staged question.  Cindy claims she feels like she is feeling hatred from Ramona.  I am totally confused?  Ramona tried to approach Cindy at the birthday party and Cindy shut her down.  Ramona apologized and Ramona thought Cindy accepted the apology until Cindy blindsided Ramona at The Four Seasons but Cindy claims to Jill that Ramona acted all weird at The Four Seasons.  I did not see it that way.  But, I am catching on to the 'set up'.  Cindy says to Jill, "Ramona had red eyes" .  Ramona said she was tired.  I did not notice red eyes but I see where this is going with the ladies.  Cindy goes on to say no one likes Ramona and her core is not good.  Who is no one and I would prefer specifics on her core not being good.  What exactly has Ramona done?  She had a disagreement with Cindy's brother and she tried to discuss with Cindy and what else???  Now, Jill is chomping at the bit.  Jill claims she is "validated" by what Cindy is saying and that ALL Ramona's friends are afraid of her and they go back to her out of fear? What the hell does that mean?  Honestly, I am 45 years old and my friends are my friends, I don't have friends out of fear.  The statement makes no flipping sense.  Then Jill babbles on like she is giving sage advice about you have to cut a friend off if they are not good for you.  Wow, Jill that is deep.  Listen, Jill just can't help herself.  She is a nasty gossiper.  In addition, Jill is a GET EVEN kind of gal and Ramona has to pay for last year.  This conversation was gossip at it's best. Oh, Jill, you just can't see yourself at all!

Sonja Morgan and Chris March!
I loved this scene!  Sonja loved her old costume and wig.  Chris March (Project Runway) HATED IT!!  Chris was trying to be polite and funny!  Sonja was saying, "Please make magic of this, I love it, MAKE IT WORK"  Sonja said, " I guess I am hoarder and the wig was great 30 years ago, it hasn't aged as well as me."  I love Sonja.  You know why?  Sonja has great self-esteem.  She really does like herself BUT she doesn't take life too seriously!  You know, you need both attributes to navigate your way through this crazy thing we call LIFE!

Jill Zarin & LuAnn de Lesseps costume shop

Oh, this scene is rather telling.  The ladies are searching for a costume for the masquerade ball and the two just can't resist stabbing and jabbing away at Ramona while looking for a costume.  Jill is doing a BANG UP JOB with that NO GOSSIPING and we really are seeing who is on Jill's hit list!

Cindy Barshop and her Babies 'two' dads!

The scene with Cindy, her children and the father.  Sad, just sad.  The father is more at ease with the children than Cindy.  If Cindy mothered she might understand that tumbling and playing is normal and healthy.  Loved the fact that the nanny was there to help even with the bath. (SARCASM)  The nanny handed Cindy the washcloth.  Something tells me Cindy has no clue where they are located LOL.  The other creepy part of the scene, the children calling Howie 'daddy' and Cindy does not correct them and then when the father arrives Howie seems to be upset.  WEIRD!!!  It is all a little creepy in that house.  The kids seem like little toys for Cindy.

Here's Cindy , "Oh, tonight I will feed them but hey, 'Close the door nanny'  because I can't do EVERYTHING"   I will be honest, being a full time mom I have a hard time understanding the concept of nannies, I just do.  I totally understand a mother who works outside the home needing help but when a mom is at home (not at work) to not want to do the mothering just baffles me it really baffles me.

The Masquerade Ball!

Sonja getting ready for the ball!  Sonja needs tea and it has to be in her blue and white cup!  Oh, my gosh, really?  Anyway,Michael to the rescue!  Bravo cuts away to Sonja's interview and she states that it has been tough since she divorced and her friends know it.  I guess we all define 'tough' differently but if you had grown accustomed to living a certain lifestyle and it changes then it takes time to readjust.  I think Sonja liked her lifestyle and she tries to maintain it but she is willing to admit it has changed and she now has to be frugal so she barters.  This leads us to Michael, see Michael needs a place to stay in New York City and learn English.  Sonja needs an errand person.  It is a win-win! To top it off, he is a cute french guy!!  Now, who in their right mind is going to complain about that situation!!

Anyway Sonja continues to get ready for her party and Amina, her niece, arrives and they discuss needing ruffle panties.  Actually, Sonja asks her niece if she has any and Amina realizes she doesn't have her panties either and they joke that forgetting their panties must run in the family.  At that point in walks Chris March with Sonja's costume.

Sonja and Chris go into her bedroom where he unveils every piece.  The mask.  Beautiful.  As Sonja said, "A work of art."  Her costume, was old and ratty.  Chris made it look rich and STATELY.  Therefore,Sonja becomes, "Lady Morgan" but to top it off, Chris took the mop or WIG and made it into a show stopping piece.  Sonja said, "Oh, my gosh, I am going to pass out."  Sonja put the wig on and it transformed her.  I mean Sonja is always into Sonja and the wig brought Sonja up a notch or two.  Better yet, it transformed her into LADY MORGAN!   Of course, Chris was hysterical and said that Sonja was "wearing a dead poodle" on her head.  I loved this scene.  No drama just fun.  It was fun to see Sonja all excited for her party.  Sonja asked someone to take something old and make it new again.  It was a delightful scene and it was Sonja being Sonja.
Oh, and don't we all get into ourselves when getting ready for a party and when it is our own party don't we want to look extra special nice!  It would be boring if Sonja sat there and tweedled her thumbs and said, "Oh, I hope I look good tonight"  Yeah, that would be fun to watch (Sarcasm)  Anyway, Sonja said this about Chris, "He Chris Marched me!"  Chris loved it and he did Chris March her, it was great!!

On the way to the party Sonja gets the call from LuAnn, "Cough cough, I am sick and can't make it."  I don't know I just don't believe it.  But, Sonja didn't seem to give a rat's ass.  I love that about Sonja.  She seems to be the type that doesn't get ruffled by a person not showing up. I think she enjoys the moment and invites people and who comes great who chooses not to well, so sad for them BUT I bet she remembers down the line.  You know after a few don't shows I bet you get crossed off her invite list and she probably never says a word to anyone.

You know what, Kelly is a bitch.  Kelly plays the game, "I don't like to gossip but she really does gossip."  Not to mention she really lacks a brain.  Kelly, honestly did not understand Sonja calling herself Lady Morgan.  It was for the masquerade ball.  For Sonja "Lady Morgan" was for fun.  What Kelly does not get is her idiot friend LuAnn, keeps the stupid ass title Countess because she thinks it has meaning.  Here is what is funny??  LuAnn and Kelly look like the asses and Sonja was the one making them look like the asses.  The best part, Kelly is too stupid to understand and LuAnn totally gets the dig.  Kelly went on to pick apart the party claiming it was not a ball.  I can't stand people like Kelly.  You know the type, the ones that NEVER EVER have an event or party but they can always rip another person's party or event to shreds.

Oh, and then Jill!  Jill is such a bullshitter.  Jill said,  "I am not going to gossip."  Now, that is flipping funny!  Does Jill HEAR HERSELF??  Ripping apart Sonja's party is gossiping but I guess Jill would claim she is forced to tell her thoughts for the show and she has to be honest.  Jill can and will SPIN anything.  But, Jill, if you claim that then isn't that true about the others when they rip your ass apart??

Listen, I have stopped entertaining because of people like Jill and Kelly.  BITCHES.  What is wrong with the world and why can't people just have fun and enjoy each others company??  Just because Jill thought it was going to be a big fancy party and it was a small intimate party doesn't mean it was a BAD party.  Sometimes it is nice to have a party with just 20 or 30 people.  Jill seems to never have a nice word to say about anybody, unless it benefits her.  You know what I mean.  Jill is that type of person.  What do I get out of the relationship?,kind of person!  I don't like those type of people.  Do You?  Jill just can't be nice, listen to her words.  Here is what she said about Sonja and her party, "she doesn't have to be throwing these non-important parties because if she does she should do it the way she wants do it and not half assed."  Way to be supportive!!

Cindy sucks.  I mean at the party she cannot interact with the women.  Cindy seems to just stare, does her mouth work??  It is like nothing was computing from the brain to the mouth, I thought she was a mute at the party LOL

Oh, but Jill's mouth works.  Once again, Jill claimed she wasn't going to gossip, right?  Sonja, bends over and realizes that her petticoat is missing.  Sonja makes it clear that she forgot it at home and that there was definitely another part to her costume.  Jill runs to Alex, who is unaware of what is happening and announces that Sonja is missing her petticoat.  Way to run your mouth.  A friend wouldn't announce your embarrassment.  Jill claims she doesn't want people to laugh at Sonja but yet Jill was running her mouth about Sonja's faux pas.

Kelly gets her two cents in about dressing inappropriately and my mouth drops open because I wouldn't be caught dead in half the shit that Kelly wears as NORMAL clothes.  For godsakes, even Jill, her best buddy  said that Kelly should get a discount for using only half the fabric.  Anyway for Kelly to be dissing Sonja about her missing petticoat well,This is definitely the POT CALLING THE KETTLE BLACK.  Kelly needs to look at herself before throwing stones!!  Her dresses are so damn short and then I do believe she was in PLAYBOY, right???  PLAYBOY.  She is a stupid bitch.  Open mouth insert foot!

In all honesty, as long as Sonja did not bend over the dress was ok, short but fine.  Bending over is what got Sonja in trouble and Jill had a field day with the incident.  Jill, the person who claimed she was staying out of the FRAY!!  God, someone needs to force Jill to take a hard look in the mirror but I think she is too old to see herself for how she truly is and I thank my lucky stars she refuses to see light because Jill makes for great television!!  I love watching someone make an ass out of themselves, especially someone who thinks they are high and mighty and they think others see them that way too.  It cracks me up!!

The other people at the party!  Alex and Simon.  Loved them in their costumes and it was fun seeing Alex with black hair.  Such a dramatic look.  Ramona and Mario looked dashing and guess Ramona was not the target of the evening.  Actually, Kelly seemed to be able to laugh and have a delightful conversation with Ramona and Mario.  Kelly and Ramona both blushed with the manscaping confession.  I think that both women are shy when it comes to certain topics and it is shame that walls have been put up because they did seem to be enjoying the moment.

We saw only a snippet of the party but it seemed like a lovely evening of people dressing up, drinking, eating and enjoying each other and maybe sometimes that is all we need.  Sometimes we need to forget all the elaborate bullshit and just have a nice evening with each other.

Kelly Bensimon Shoe Shopping!

Loved the shoes!!  Loved them!  Oh, and I guess Bravo doesn't mind Kelly's blatant attempt to rebuild her image.  I never really had much to say about Kelly and her mothering.  I do believe Kelly has taken a huge hit in the public with the Scary Island incident. Therefore, I guess we, the viewers, have to put up with the staged bullshit to make Kelly look better.  Kelly knew that Bravo would love to air those shoes and she was able to talk about her parenting.
All The Housewives are getting smarter at staging their scenes and interviews.  They know what Bravo is looking for.  The shoe scene was  A win-win, Bravo liked the shoe shopping and Kelly felt it gave her a chance to show her mothering skills!   But,The viewers are not stupid either.  I bet most of you are like me, We loved the shoes!!

Cindy Barshop and Jill Zarin go to the dentist!

It starts with Jill saying to Cindy, "I want you to know I gave up a work day" (to go with Cindy to the dentist)  and Cindy answers back "I know, I know, I love you"  First of all, who could really afford to give up a work day to go to the dentist with a friend? No one.  Really and truly.  In the real world people have to hoard their personal, sick and vacation days.  And, let's be honest most people need those days for family, most certainly not to go with a friend for a cosmetic dental consultation.  We would go with a friend for a serious medical issue but c'mon give up a personal, vacation or sick day for cosmetic shit? I think not! This leads me to stating that Jill and her working point is a joke.  Wait, yes, she works but she works for her husband (I do too) and that means your schedule is flexible.  PLAIN and SIMPLE.  Second of all, Jill went so it would be filmed.  Two housewives means filming.

Now, the rest of the scene irritated me to no end.  Jill is that friend who knows it all and even  more than a doctor.  For goodness sakes Jill says in her interview that it runs in her family, this thinking they know more than doctors and yet they have no medical degrees.  Who in their right mind says something like that??  Oh, no one!

Now, onto Cindy.  Why did she sit there and take it??  I mean she talks about Ramona being crazy and then she let's Jill lambast her doctor?  Does Cindy have a backbone?  I would never have allowed a person to speak to my doctor in that manner.  It baffles me how Cindy has her own business but I am beginning to think her brother runs the show and Cindy is more of a marketing tool.

The entire dentist scene was ridiculous, just ridiculous.  You know what is worse?  Jill thinks she knows more than the dentist.  Jill might be able to give suggestions on how it should look but dipshit can't do the actual procedure or fix a problem or read an x-ray or diagnosis an illness and I could go on and on.  Oh, and if I could back up in the scene, when the doctor walked in he was not pleased to see Jill Zarin and she knew it.  That is why Jill rattled on and on.  If you notice that is Jill's habit when she gets nervous she rattles on and on and boy was she rattling.  It was painful to watch.
The entire scene was painful.

Ramona Singer Pinot Grigio Launch!

It is Ramona's big launch and the Housewives are arriving. Alexis says, "Ramona is to Pinot Grigio as Salt is to the Ocean" and she giggles.  Alex says it with the playfulness of a friend and she meant it as a compliment.  But before the launch is kicked into high gear and everyone has arrived Ramona and Jennifer (the bride from the wedding) chat about her wedding and an unfortunate incident at the wedding.  Guess who is entangled in the unfortunate incident??  Jill Zarin.  Jill Zarin seems to always be entangled in a mess.  The gist of what Jennifer told Ramona was, "Jill wanted to know why Alex and Simon were invited to the wedding and why Jill was not informed of their coming.  Also,Jill wanted to know the level of friendship between Jennifer and Ramona."  The news upset Ramona and it clearly was on her mind.  In the meantime, people are arriving and friendly (sarcasm) LuAnn attacks Ramona like a hound dog.  LuAnn is a jealous bitch.  I found her questions inappropriate at the launch and LuAnn needs to read her own damn book on etiquette.  Ramona handled LuAnn beautifully.  I didn't see a CRAZY RAMONA but I loved when Ramona said in her interview, "When she was married to the count she was an expert countess and now she is with Jacques and she is an expert in wine making."  What a perfect dig.  Basically, Ramona is saying LuAnn is incapable of having her own identity.  LuAnn has to always be tied to a man and wrap herself in his life and interests.

Anyway, Ramona quietly asks Jill if she can speak with her.  Jill winks at LuAnn.  Not sure what the wink was about?  LuAnn claims in her interview she can tell when Ramona has been drinking and at some point she is going to blow.  Um, LuAnn you just hounded her and someone just fed her information about Jill, yeah Ramona was going to blow.  Oh on a sidenote, what the hell was LuAnn wearing in her interview?? That butterfly necklace is butt ugly.  LuAnn has got to stop wearing some of that chunky cheap ass jewelry.

So, Jill and Ramona discuss what Jennifer told Ramona.  Jill is into this new saying, "Just because you say it doesn't make it true!"  I think Jill thinks that is an awesome saying.  Personally, I think that is spin control.  Jill demands to pull Jennifer into it.  Ramona should have gotten Jennifer into the conversation.  By the way, watch the scene Jill got loud and defensive.  Ramona was asking for an explanation quietly.

In the end, Jill ran into Jennifer and Jennifer stuck by what she said and Jill quickly cut her off and ran back inside and asked Ramona, "let's have a meeting or lunch"  At that point, I don't think Ramona knew what was hitting her and things had spiraled.

Jill then went out to the car and did some fake crying with LuAnn and pulled out some ridiculous stuff animals.  Jill at age 45 women don't want shit gifts.  Stop with the silly little pretend gifts.  Jill thinks that if she gives women these little token gifts and professes words of friendship then she gets friends.  Nope, actions speak louder.  You have stop talking behind a peoples backs.  This 'I do' for you is crap.  Just because you give someone a gift or show up to something doesn't make you a friend especially when you turn around and stab and jabs and, it is the stabbing and jabbing that makes you suck.

RHONY Overall thoughts!
Anyway, it has become crystal clear that Ramona is the target.  Only this season Jill lined up her allies.  They are helping to plant the seed.  We are suppose think Ramona has a drinking problem and maybe Sonja too.

By the way, if I thought someone had a drinking problem and I considered them a friend or at one time a friend I would never trash them on National Television.  In addition,  a drinking problem is serious and too wield around as a weapon is cruel.  I think this is payback for Kelly. Kelly behaved the way she did on Scary Island.  That was Kelly's fault, not Ramona's.  Kelly is an adult and it is time for Kelly to own up but I guess it is easier to call a person a drunk.  These women are cruel.

Anyway,From just watching the episode all I see is Jill in the middle of everything again.  Jill claims she was staying out of it.  Yet all she does is gossip, gossip and more gossip.  Jill, very rarely has a kind word for anyone! In addition, she expects the viewers to believe there is a conspiracy against Jill??  Yikes, I am always leery about conspiracy theories.  You know what they say about the person that protests too much? Oh, and Jill is always protesting.  Jill is always talking smack and Jill is always in a fight.  Jill and Bethenny, Jill and Alex, and now, Jill and Ramona.   You know Jill likes to tell you what her mama taught her,  well my mama taught me a few things and here is one: the person that is always in the middle of all the trouble is usually THE TROUBLEMAKER and I listen to my mama!
