Real Housewives of New York City! Pecking Order Episode!!
Yes, I watched, Guilty as charged. Listen, I am HOOKED. What can I say?? I shake my head in disgust at myself. I admit that I did and still like the older episodes of THE REAL HOUSEWIVES. Oh, the GOOD OLD DAYS, when Bravotv focused on each housewife and their personal life. Of course, they had crossover with the housewives and each woman gossiped a tad bit about each other but somewhere down the line THE REAL HOUSEWIVES SERIES has become all about the HOUSEWIVES and their relationships with each other. In addition, Bravotv has each Housewife critique each other in order to drum up more drama. I prefer more natural gossip and a little less of it, if that makes any sense but I can't deny the fact that I obviously continue to watch. I am wondering how long I will continue viewing?? I am the type of person to eventually tire of things and move onto to something else, so time will tell. It is funny how the Housewives are defending their behavior and using our viewing to back it up. Tamra Barney posted on her Facebook the viewing numbers for this past Sunday's episode and then said, "Guess you guys really do like all the drama." Jill tweeted "If we didn't gossip and just read books would anyone watch! I love being a housewife! So much fun!!!" Unfortunately, both ladies have a point. The ratings seem to climb for Bravotv every time there is drama between HOUSEWIVES and, my dear readers, executives only give a damn about RATINGS. What is my point? I am a guilty viewer. I watch the drama!! I don't turn the channel or switch shows BUT I watched before the drama too. Therefore, the question is how many people have jumped on board since THE REAL HOUSEWIVES have changed??? The numbers have grown, and we know that people have come aboard later in the game so to speak therefore Bravotv assumes that is due mostly because of the drama between the HOUSEWIVES. Now, they may be wrong about that being the most important VARIABLE but that is the assumption guiding the producing!!! Anyway, this has led to all the DRAMA and this has led to the HOUSEWIVES creating drama for precious airtime!!! It is a doggy dog world out there my friends and only those willing to fight survive!!
Let us move onto the show!!
Jill Lunches has drinks with 'The Ladies' (my way of referencing the Real Housewives as a group)
The show opens with Jill meeting LuAnn, Kelly and Sonja for drinks at Tiella's. They do all the normal kiss kiss you look great and so tan and blah blah blah. Bravo then cuts to Jill's interview where she states that her and Bobby had a wonderful, restful vacation. Also, Jill had time to assess her life and she is going to stay away from the gossip, drama and fighting. I ask you, "How many times have you told yourself the exact same thing in your own personal life?"
Back to the gathering! Jill passes out presents and is talking about Australia and an awesome pearl she would love to have AND LuAnn is BORED. LuAnn can't wait to burst out what went down with 'the ladies' while Jill was in Australia. I can think of an occasion or two where I have been guilty of bringing a friend up to speed when they have missed something that happened in our circle of friends LOL. Have any of you done such a thing in your life?? Or are most of you the nice quiet ones that don't say a word?? I need to learn that habit. KEEPING MY MOUTH SHUT!!! LOL Although, with age I have gotten much much better at it!!! Okay, back to the Housewives.
Now, I love to watch these women re-tell a story! These ladies love to EXAGGERATE!!
LuAnn informs Jill that they all went to Cindy's birthday party and Sonja is still bitching that it was in Quogue (notice Jill rolled her eyes a bit about the location too). Anyhoo, LuAnn claimed the party was nice and blah blah blah but Ramona was the nutcase. See, LuAnn was still pissed at Ramona for the "So, you are a weekend mom" Dig. Anyway, LuAnn tries to say that Ramona asked her for advice about the incident that happened at the wedding that Jill attended too AND then Jill says, "Carol was crying hysterically" Okay, now, I know this happened off camera but something tells me that is a stretch. We all know something went down but HYSTERICALLY, in my opinion, is probably a stretch and these ladies do have a track record with STRETCHING LOL LuAnn continues with the story about Ramona trying to talk with Howie at Cindy's birthday party and she is fairly accurate with Ramona badgering Howie and Howie not wanting any part of it AND THEN THE STRETCH, Ramona did not storm off. God I love how these women just LIE! But, Then, Jill says, "She (Ramona) can't leave dead bodies all over town and then expect to move on!" Jill continues to ramble on about Ramona and then Bravo cuts to Jill's interview where she claims, "I want to stay out of the drama and gossip but sometimes you get sucked back into it." Yes, I agree with Jill BUT C'mon JILL you didn't really try that hard?? I mean, you could have sat there and been a little more quiet and listen, geez. Like, I said, with age I have learned to put my listening ears on and talk without really gossiping.
Onto my favorite part of the scene! Kelly and her view of the world! Kelly turned a drunk text by Ramona into a Threat! Yeah, I am thinking most of us disagree with that assessment, right? Some of us might say the text was uncalled for, a bit dramatic, a little over the top, immature BUT A THREAT??? You gotta be kidding me! Oh, and who cares if Ramona misspelled in a TEXT MESSAGE and if you know it is a drunk text then take it for what is worth, right?? I loved Sonja saying, "A horse head in your bed or working at a Union restaurant where people can get away with murder sometimes is a threat" OH, MY GOD, too funny, We have the GODFATHER and mobster in one sentence, only SONJA!! Anyway, Sonja and LuAnn do their very best to listen to Kelly's rambling about Ramona's threatening text. The eye contact between the Sonja and Luann SAY IT ALL!! Thank goodness we move onto the fact that Ramona and Kelly are meeting. Let's just say that Sonja does a pretty good job of impersonating Ramona, just too many dahlings, that word really belongs to LuAnn LOL!
Alex and a new piano!
I hated this scene, HATED IT!! I will not talk about a little child. Well, actually the child behaved NORMAL. You never know what you are going to get with a kid. In addition, Parenting is hard. All I am going to say, is in my opinion, Alex and Simon made a poor choice to have this filmed and make no mistake they WANTED it filmed. That is why they hired the pianist. Simon has been trying to say "they want more family time" on Real Housewives but not sure this is the way to go about it. I felt bad for their little boy. Natural is the best way to capture the family, not forced filming and this scene was forced. I do not read any blogs before writing and I am sure Alex will have an excuse for the behavior. Parents always do LOL. You know we hear it all the time. Either the child will have been tired, over stimulated, WAY too excited and so on. My personal take, he reacted like a normal little boy. He had no clue who the person was playing the piano and it was just a regular old piano in his eyes. He's a kid! He just wants cake, balloons maybe a clown and some video games, kids will be kids!!! I am sure he enjoys the piano and will grow to love the arts but he's a kid!!!
Kelly and Ramona 'The Meeting'
Goodness gracious Kelly was a nervous wreck to meet with Ramona and I loved Ramona saying "Kelly's nervous, she knows I know how to push her buttons. Don't worry Kelly I am not pushing any buttons." Ramona is smart. She figures out the game quickly. It has dawned on Ramona that 'the game' is to bury Scary Island and Ramona figures, "What the hell, I can play the game until it is time to not play anymore."
I think Ramona is figuring Kelly out. She can't handle confrontation and it isn't worth Ramona's time to send Kelly over the edge. I think Kelly needed to get some things off her chest and Kelly is leary of Ramona but she felt better speaking with her.
Ramona is right, taking the time to understand the other person's perspective goes a long way. You may not agree with that perspective but 'getting' where they are 'coming from' at least helps the two parties communicate and get along! If you noticed Ramona never apologized for Scary Island but she made Kelly feel better by saying, "I apologize that YOU FELT that way and it was not MY INTENTION." Ramona acknowledged Kelly's feelings and that goes a long way. Kelly was able to better accept that Ramona failed her (in her eyes) but she believed that it was not a setup and that was important to Kelly. In addition, Ramona admitted the drunk text was immature and just should have stated her hurt feelings directly. Once again, Kelly appreciated Ramona being upfront and it took a lot for Ramona to admit her feelings were hurt. Unbelievable to say this, but Ramona and Kelly managed to have a very SANE conversation and these two have some very INSANE moments LOL. Oh, I love the Housewives!!
Sonja might not have said much but her neutral presence was a comfort for both ladies!!
Sonja and Cindy have TEA! (Warning many of you will disagree with me in this section, don't throw things at your computer. Let's just agree to disagree!!!)
I, honestly didn't get the dancing with the staff member?? And, give me a chance to explain. Sonja was polite and introduced the gentleman, Michael. She said that he was a dancer and being a butler was a second job. I think Cindy thought dancing with him would get him AIRTIME. Unfortunately ,Sonja was on a mission and in Sonja's mind it wasn't Cindy's place to get her staff member AIRTIME. For example, Kind of like, Max trying to hog the spotlight on Bethenny's show?? Now, Cindy in her interview questions Sonja's staff?? Cindy asks, "Are they interns, are they paid, are they not paid?" I'm not sure what was Cindy's point?? That is between Sonja and her staff?? Once again, I did not see Sonja mistreating Michael or being rude? Actually, Cindy kept texting as Sonja was talking and that is rude! Put the damn phone away!!
Anyway, let's get to the CRUX of the meeting! Sonja was pissed at Cindy for telling Kelly about her plan. We all know the plan right? Sonja wanted Kelly and Ramona and Kelly to talk at her Toaster Oven party and it would be filmed!! Listen, Cindy was told a plan in confidence and then Cindy squashed it by blabbering. I don't know about any of you but if I told someone that I was planning to get my two friends back together (oh and was on a reality show and wanted it filmed) and then they squashed it well then they better be ready for MY REACTION. If Cindy believes what she did was right then stand behind it! Bottom line you have to take the consequences when shit hits the fan. Oh, and don't lie. Cindy, swearing up and down that she didn't mention Ramona doesn't sit well with me. Just own it. In her interview Cindy says in reference to Sonja "Really Sonja, who does she think she is, the school principal?" Here is my answer to that question, "No, Sonja was calling you to the carpet." All Cindy needed to do was STAND BY HER DECISION but she didn't she lied.
In addition, Cindy didn't like Sonja saying, "I've learned I can't confide in you." Because that is the truth. Cindy betrayed a confidence. I am sorry but Ramona wasn't going to murder Kelly's kids so to have to feel that she had to tell the secret, well, I am just not buying it. Those of you reading this on Cindy's side, Put yourself in Sonja's shoes?? If you told someone a plan you had and they blabbed it, would you be pissed?? In addition, Sonja genuinely likes Kelly and Ramona, not sure Cindy can claim the same thing??
Now, let's chat about Sonja's comment "I have seen girls like Cindy come and go." I know what Sonja means. Cindy plays the gossip game but tries to act like she doesn't and she is above it all yet Cindy is the source of gossip and drama. Those women never last because women are smart and figure it out.
Now, onto the the next part of the conversation! This is getting long and I am going to cut to the chase. If you are reading this I am going to assume you watched. Sonja goes onto to state that "No one wanted to go to the birthday party in Quogue." Which at that point in filming is true. No one knew Cindy and Quogue is not centrally located. Therefore, Sonja let's Cindy know that Ramona rallied the troops and got the ladies to go. WHICH MEANT the party was FILMED. These women have to speak in CODE!! Let's face it if none of the ladies showed up to that party it would NEVER had aired. Sonja was making a point. Cindy got the point.
The wine conversation wasn't really about WINE so much. It was used to say, "Listen, Ramona got you on the show, she got everyone to the party and thank GOD she made some drama or the damn party would HAVE BEEN AXED! My God, you think you could have gotten her some Pinot Grigio! You stupid BITCH."
I know Sonja used the phrase "pecking order" and everyone has gone into a frenzy over it but let's use a different term, SENIORITY. Isn't that how life works?? When you are on a job for five years and the new, young thing walks in you EXPECT respect. You expect them to acknowledge YOUR knowledge and years of experience, correct? No one likes the young, cocky thing that comes in and thinks they KNOW everything! No one likes the NEW person who thinks they are going to CHANGE IT ALL and MAKE the place better, just. like. that!! Americans love the underdog as long as they are NOT the underdog's target LOL. Traditionally, once A person has devoted some time to a company or organization they want respect for their TIME!! Sonja was new last year and she treaded carefully that is why she was liked. Fans called her a 'breath of fresh air'. Sonja stayed out of the drama and didn't get into the fray! Sonja way trying to tell Cindy to do the same, Unfortunately, Pecking Order was probably not the right phrase!
Ramona's Mary Kay Party (I kid, I kid, and I actually sell Mary Kay)
Anyway, LuAnn the snob is too good for a jewelry party and too good for Ramona's jewelry. You know, these women crack me up because the shit they say about each other makes you wonder if they really do like each other at all. LuAnn talks smack about Ramona's jewelry and then with a straight face LuAnn says, "But I went to support Ramona" Cough, cough to be filmed!
Oh, and Ramona I love you honey, but you and Mario did not come up with that 'selling model', it is has been going on for years with many products!! Anyway, let's get back to the gossip!! Oh, wait, wait first we have to talk about LuAnn ripping on Ramona for not being able to say the name of the town where Ramona's wine is being produced! Yeah, because that is a big deal when Ramona is cashing her checks. Oh and yes, Ramona is so upset she is lacking in knowledge and expertise of wine because that is stopping her sales too LOL. I think LuAnn has a bad case of "SOUR GRAPES" HA! HA!
Now, onto the gossip. LuAnn basically says to Ramona, "Geez Ramona what the hell were you thinking going after Cindy's brother at Cindy's non-birthday party?" Ramona retorts, "You told me too!" Stunned LuAnn says, "Well, not like that!" Of course in LuAnn's interview she has to inform us that Ramona needs a refresher course in etiquette. Rolling my eyes on that comment!! Then, somehow the two start talking about Ramona not getting her Pinot Grigio at Cindy's party! I hate to agree with LuAnn on this one but I do to SOME EXTENT and Ramona needs to let it go. I never ask what drinks will be at a party and if they don't have what I like I don't come in with a bottle of my own. Now, on the other hand, if Cindy told Ramona she was having Pinot Grigio then I am wondering why Cindy forgot it? If you claim to be a smart savy business woman and you join a reality television show that has been on for years I am going to assume you have watched an episode or two LOL. Therefore, you can't tell me Cindy didn't know that Ramona drinks Pinot Grigio?? I guess Cindy really doesn't give a shit about her guests or was she spiteful because Ramona pissed her off about the text asking if it was a 'kiddie party' and her brother?? I am thinking Cindy is a little Passive Aggessive?? Anyway, Bravo cuts to LuAnn saying, "Yeah, Ramona the Pinot should have been there but enough already,we're over it." I think sometimes LuAnn doesn't read between the lines and doesn't LISTEN when the other person is talking!
Cindy, Kelly and Jill Walking in Central Park!
Cindy in her interview feels the need to explain that since she owns her own business she sets her hours! Guess, we couldn't figure that out on our own because we don't understand the concept of being a business owner and I am sure you are all glad that Cindy defined her hours for you, right! Anyway, after having Tea with Sonja, Cindy was going to go Shopping with Kelly but they decided to walk in Central Park which Cindy needed desperately after her Tea excursion. While walking they 'ran' into Jill. I am so darn nosey because I am wondering if they really ran into her and the Bravo crew had to stop and get a microphone on Jill? Alright, that is not the interesting part of the scene. Nope, it is the re-telling of THE TEA! First, Cindy tells Kelly that Sonja informs her that there is a 'pecking order' with the ladies. I get why Cindy is pissed. I would be too. Listen, no one wants another person to tell you there is a 'pecking order' but Cindy is a dipshit and she should know how life works. Of course, Kelly is clueless and we won't even discuss her response, not worth our time LOL!! But, Kelly can't wait to tell Jill ( I thought Kelly claimed she didn't like gossip??) But first Jill says, "How could you not tell me you saw Sonja today?" Cindy starts to stutter and answer but Kelly cuts in and says "I am going to speak for you" ( Kelly is talking to Cindy) And she blurts out that Sonja says, "There is a pecking order to our friends and Ramona is the Queen Bee." I love how a story gets changed. I will give Cindy credit and this is where you can see that Cindy kind of sort of gets Sonja's point and probably why she was so angry. You know the saying, "The truth hurts." Cindy steps in and she says, "No, Sonja says Ramona brought me into the cool group, which I never had a problem with before in my life." And then Kelly makes a crack about paying homage to Ramona and they start laughing and Jill asks, "Who are you not allowed to be mad at?" Cindy says,"Ramona" and Jill says, "What, you will get kicked out of her private club?" Once again, I never heard Sonja tell Cindy she couldn't get mad at Ramona. Actually I think this is where we are finding out that Cindy has a problem with Ramona. I think Sonja was telling Cindy to tread lightly and handle things carefully. There is a difference between paying homage and treading lightly, right? Just like telling a new person at work how to handle the person who has been in the office for five years. Also, we must remember this is a television show, not just ladies 'lunching'. These women are fighting for AIR TIME!! Anyway, we then hear Jill and Kelly both agree that Sonja has been hanging out with Ramona a little too much! I am wondering how Jill would feel if Cindy ( the new girl) was stepping all over her toes???? What do you guys think LOL
Sonja's Toaster Bake Oven Party!
Sonja's original party tanked because of Cindy so it was revamped with Kelly and LuAnn. If I was Sonja I would be pissed because Sonja's plan was better TELEVISION LOL Okay, So, Not sure what we learned but I think it was Sonja chopped up Asparagus and cooked it with Fish in her really old Toaster Oven and LuAnn gave it a Thumbs up?? You know, I am sure it was good but this is what is nice about getting on a REALITY SHOW, see Sonja thinks her Toaster Oven recipes are great and she gets to write a recipe book and her fans will buy it and tweet her how great her recipes are and then she will retweet them and all will be happy! I get it. I don't blame Sonja for trying and promoting herself, she is NO different than any other housewife! In addition, I don't blame her fans why wouldn't they support her just like they support the other housewives?? Now,I have a secret, I must share with you that my kids think I make the BEST hamburgers in the world and their friends agree. They all say I should sell my recipe but you know I am not lucky enough to be on a Reality Show so only my family, friends and kids' friends get to enjoy some of my special recipes AND GUESS WHAT???? I bet many of you could tell a similar story!! LOL
Jill makes Amends with Alex!
Jill steps into it from the get go! Jill tries to give Alex a compliment with "You are like wine you get better with age." Yeah, not a good thing to say to a woman. Jill should have just said, "Like your blonde hair, you look great." Jill was nervous and trying too hard. I understood Alex in her interview saying she didn't trust Jill but I am not sure why Alex seems to trust the other women more?? Jill has not said anything about Alex and Simon that ALL the other women haven't said too, including Bethenny. Each of the women have cracked on Alex and Simon social climbing, Simon drinking and I do believe that Ramona and LuAnn have been the hardest on Alex's children. Yet Alex seems to be more forgiving of the other women, especially Bethenny and Ramona. 'Hear' me out for a moment. I think it is all strategy with Alex and Simon (listen they are a team). Even when she is sitting with Jill, look at her face. Really, who stares at person with such a look. Alex seems to be 'acting' and bringing on the drama for filming. Like, I said, I get Alex being leary of Jill but I don't like someone with double standards. If you claim to hold someone accountable for their Bullshit, especially from years ago then why not the other ladies?? Bethenny and Ramona have been pretty rough on Simon and even Alex. Ramona has been down right tough on Alex's boys and Alex has never demanded an apology from either woman?? I think Alex knows she has to bring some drama to the table and she knows the fans can't stand Jill so it makes sense to go after Jill. For Alex and Simon it is all strategy and I can't wait to see how it all plays out.
Personally, I think Alex should have been upfront and said, "You know Jill, I just don't trust you and actions speak louder than words. I hear what you are saying and your intentions sound great but let's see your follow through." I would have respected Alex more than doing the silly burn paper with past shit on it and now we can move forward crap.
As far as Jill making her excuses about Bobby being sick, her fight with Bethenny, and Alex being too outspoken, well, that is Jill. Sometimes in life you have to decide to accept a person for who they are or cut them out of your life. Jill has serious trouble seeing herself in the mirror but if you are friends with Jill you have to accept that fact. Jill will never change. I will agree with one thing Jill says, "No one is perfect" I think we all should remember that we have faults and friends have to learn to love a friend warts and all, true friends do that for each other but that being said NOT ALL PEOPLE are meant to be friends and I don't think Alex and Jill are meant to be friends, they are different people and I don't think one is better than the other. Nope, they are just different!
Ramona and Cindy meet for drinks!
Ramona agrees to meet with Cindy for drinks at The Four Seasons after a long day of working. Cindy comes in teasing Ramona about wearing her sunglasses. Ramona claims she has tired eyes. Anyway, both ladies order their drinks and Ramona seems to be shocked that Cindy orders a Vodka Martini?? I am not sure why? If it is the end of the day and Happy Hour, why not? Anyway, Ramona clearly thinks things are fine. Ramona apologized to Cindy and Ramona thinks this is a friendly get together UNTIL... Ramona says, "I always enjoy seeing you" and Cindy replies, "I want to be more open with you." Not the response Ramona was expecting and she asks Cindy to repeat her response, which Cindy does. Ramona gets a look on her face that suggests, "the hair on my neck is tingling" You know what I mean? Ramona knew something was up and she better get her fighting game on. Cindy blabbers on about wanting to be able to tell Ramona about the 'little things'. I think Cindy was trying to say, "Listen, when you piss me off I want to let you know straight up." Ramona gets it and she says, "Friendship is all about learning and growing and it takes time." Cindy, stuffing her mouth answers, "Yeah, and that is why I am trying to tell you now and then Cindy says, but You are looking at me like I have four heads?" Ramona, comes back with, "No but I am confused, I am not getting it, I am sorry, you are confusing me."
The two ladies then start discussing 'the little things' the same discussion Jill and Alex had. Here my friends is where you cannot go with FRIENDS, EVER "THE LITTLE THINGS". See, each person has a perspective and you can't possibly tell a person about 'THE LITTLE THINGS" Ramona called and apologized. Cindy claimed she accepted the apology. Jill apologized about the drinking statement we all saw it and to be fair there is no footage about calling the kids animals or we know damn well Bravo would have shown it. My point, you can't claim to accept an apology and then hold onto it. More importantly, people need to think before they speak. Jill talking about Simon's drinking will forever haunt her. If she called the kids animals, which Alex believes, it will always haunt Jill. The little things add up!
On the other hand, Ramona has hit an age where life is short and at some point you can't take everything so personal. Everyone likes throw Ramona's age in her face but age makes 'the little things' just that LITTLE!!
Now, Cindy picked the WRONG BITCH to fight with and Ramona pushes buttons better than anybody I know!! Love or Hate Ramona she went for the jugular with the "I've been married for 18 years it was a romantic day for me without my daughter and I didn't want to be at a kiddie party and when you have been married 18 years you will understand!!!" Damn, Cindy, you pissed off the wrong lady!! Ramona knew your weak spot and in addition she made it clear she did your ass a favor!!
I know Ramona wanted to leave the scene last but it was okay that she got up and left she still made her mark! I mean Cindy on her Blackberry trying to act all cool and dismissing Ramona, very funny! Ramona was uncomfortable and I don't blame her. Ramona thought she went to have drinks with a friend and she met a foe!!
Lucy's last thoughts!
Once again Bravo has set up teams. Team Brunettes and Team Blondes!! I can see both sides. I like the women. I understand them fighting, I can see all sides. We, the viewers have a wonderful advantage. We see the interviews and the edited version!! The Ladies are living it and reacting in the moment and I can only imagine what the hell I would get into if I was 'in the moment' of one of their 'lovely' scenes LOL!
Lucy
