The Real Housewives!
I very rarely write a general post. I tend to keep my blog writing very specific. I write my views about episodes of reality shows and I mostly focus on Bravo's Real Housewives. In addition, my blog posts are strictly my views. It is not a mix of views, rumors and reporting. In my opinion the better blogs are the ones that are clear in their message. Therefore if you choose to write a blog know your goal, are you presenting facts, are you writing your opinion or a little of both? Then, if you are trying to do both you should be crystal clear when you cross the lines. I read a lot of blogs and I find some are very good at switching gears and others,well, not so good and they blur the lines between facts, rumors and opinions. Anyway, that is their right. Blogs are not held up to journalistic standards. Anyone can write a blog and I encourage it!! Blog writing is fun!!!
Today, I wanted to write a general post about The Real Housewives and their effect on their fans. If, you are reading this then I imagine you know I hang out on Twitter from time to time. In addition, I have admitted that I read a lot of blogs about reality television. What amazes me about Twitter and some blogs are the intensity of hate and love that people have for these women. Sometimes I find it a little scary. It always baffles me why a person follows a Housewife they can't stand?? There are plenty of Housewives that get on my nerves, none I Hate and sometimes the ones that get on my nerves I end up liking. My philosophy is "it is a show, I truly do not KNOW these women and who knows what is real and what isn't?" Anyway, the ones I don't care for I don't follow all that much and I just write about them in the context of the show.
Now, onto the LOVE of Housewives! This amazes me as much as THE HATE. I have my FAVORITES. Some, I think are more genuine but then again, I stick by my above philosophy, "it is a show, who really knows?" Oh, and sometimes the ones I start out liking, well, I end up disliking, you just never know how the tables will turn. Anyway, I find it fascinating that people tweet messages of pure love to these ladies. Such tweets as "You're amazing" "You're a wonderful person" "I admire how hard you work" "You are a great mother and deserve the best" . It all fascinates me!
Please note, I am just offering up my opinion! I am a firm believer that a person can and should write what they want and tweet what they want. I find it funny that bloggers love to tell other bloggers what to write or how to tweet. Not me, I love it all! I love to watch it all unfold. I find it fascinating how minds work.
The only thing I will say is this, "I do not find any of the housewives to be amazing or for that matter any reality star. I have my favorites. Here is what I find AMAZING, women who work two jobs and raise their kids!! I find women and men who go back to school to get a GED to better their lives amazing. I find men and women who join our military forces amazing. Men and women who join our police academies, AMAZING. I am glad we have people willing to still join in the political arena and change our country for the better AMAZING.
But, I don't find Reality Stars that are schlepping their shit to us day in and day out AMAZING! I think they got lucky and landed on a show and now they are selling anything and everything to US. Hey, I don't blame them, I would too but that is not AMAZING to me but to each their own with what they think is AMAZING! I do wish Americans would ADMIRE something else and I guess I wish Americans would get ANGRY about something other than silly reality stars. In my opinion wasting your time watching the tweets and every move of a reality star you can't stand is a waste of your precious time but it is YOUR TIME and YOUR LIFE, so if it is what you like then go for it.
BUT, I do have a suggestion, Go out and volunteer or heck just go out and enjoy your world you might feel a little better and happier but maybe not, maybe tweeting is your passion?"
OOPS! I guess I broke my word and gave advice about what to TWEET!!! That is wrong! But hey, I know deep down people won't stop tweeting their love and hate and it felt good to get my thoughts out there! Like I said, I highly suggest blogging, it is fun!!!
Once again, these are strictly my views. I do not take Reality Stars too seriously. This Site is all fun and a get away from my day to day life!! The same for Twitter! In addition, I am only commenting and giving my opinion on what I see and my perspective. I would never ever tweet someone to stop their tweeting nor would I comment on a person's blog about their view of someone. I might offer up a different view if I felt they could handle it but typically I find that a blogger with strong feelings either way can't handle a different view so I just read it and move on. In other words, I did not mean to offend anyone but I do hope I got some of you thinking about how you view the Reality Stars and just maybe you might have taken them to a level that you didn't mean to or want to. Sometimes we all get caught up in the frenzy on Twitter and the blogs and we lose perspective!!!
