The Real Housewives of New York City: Mellow Premiere!

posted by RF Club, Group AdministratorSaturday, April 9th 2011 @ 4:11 PM (not yet rated)

The Real Housewives of New York City finally premiered!  It was nice to have the regular ladies back!  Unfortunately, I must write this quick.  Therefore, I will hit the high points and I am sure there will be many more episodes to dissect the lovely ladies (LOL).

Ramona, Ramona Ramona!!!  Where to begin??  She seems to be a little bit of a pot stirrer??  But, is that anything new??  NOPE!!!   Obviously, Ramona had a huge faux pas at the wedding and Cindy Barshop was not happy.  Really, do you blame Cindy?  Nothing like catching a person gossiping about your family member right in front of you??  In addition, it looks like Ramona is playing Jill and Alex against each other at the moment?  Should be interesting to see how that situation plays out.
But, the most interesting Ramona moment was her interviewing for assistants.  I think Ramona was lucky that she interviewed all young ,'green', inexperienced girls because had Ramona critiqued me I would have some answers for Miss Ramona and then I would have told her where to shove the job but then again I am 45 and a little more willing to stand up for myself in an interview!  Ramona crossed some serious etiquette lines in those interviews!!!

I wasn't overly fond of Alex in this episode.  She seemed uptight and full of herself.  Neither attribute very becoming.  I hate to break this to Alex but she has been signed as a model because of her Bravo connections.  Simple as one, two, three!  I know the fans STILL have serious issues with Jill Zarin but  I really felt Alex was nitpicking Jill and I think she felt she could do it because the fans hate Jill.  I have my issues with Jill (like I do with all the housewives)  but I didn't agree with Alex nitpicking a person for NOT showing up at an event.  It is a person's right to choose what they attend or not attend and in my world we have people on committees all the time that can't make it to the the ACTUAL event and we accept it and we understand and know they are lending their name to our cause.  It really is how the world works.  I kept thinking in my mind, "Alex, if you can't stand Jill then you should be happy she isn't coming and why is it your business what Jill Zarin chooses to do?"

LuAnn and Sonja on their double date???  WEIRD!  I just thought the entire date was a little awkward.  Did you??  At one point it felt like LuAnn and Sonja's date was flirting and then we switched gears to LuAnn's guy declaring his undying love for LuAnn AND THEN he went on a bigger tangent on how he could tell that Sonja's guy really had the hots for Sonja by the way he looked at her, it was beyond uncomfortable and odd!

Jill is still Jill.  She loves to gossip. We all have friends who love to gossip and hell we gossip with them but there always seems to be one that has to get ALL the dirt.  THAT IS JILL ZARIN.  Oh, my gosh, asking Cindy about her twins, tacky!!  JUST BEYOND WRONG.  I totally disagreed with Jill on that less than gracious move.  You don't ask a person those personal questions until you know them better. PERIOD!! On the other hand, I had no problem with Jill gossiping about Ramona and Alex wearing white/off white to the wedding.  I know many of you will defend Alex and Ramona because you like them AND YOU HATE JILL but it really is tacky to wear white or off white with no other print or something, I mean Jill was right and I made that error ONCE when I was very very young and I never did it again!

Jill and Kelly seem to be the best of buddies and I do think that Jill misses her friendship with Bethenny.  I think that she can't believe things went so wrong, so fast.  I know many of the fans blame it all on Jill and we will have to agree to disagree.  I am a firm believer that when friends fight it takes two and even when I am fighting I know I can't always be 100% right, I wish I could (LOL) Now, I just don't believe that Bethenny was innocent in the fight.  In addition, I would never want to be judged by one relationship going sour in my life. I must admit, I have had a few enemies in my life and I didn't always make the best choices and statements in the moment of anger.  In addition, Bethenny is not perfect nor is Jill.  I hope you guys can agree to disagree about Jill Zarin.  I can see your side but I just don't totally agree and we will leave it there!

Kelly, Oh, Kelly.  She just cracks me up!  I do give her credit for not showing up to Ramona's party.  I wouldn't have gone either and if Kelly is realizing she doesn't do well in Ramona's web than don't put yourself in bad situations.  I just can't wait to see Kelly navigate in her 'new' world, this should be interesting???

Now, as far as Cindy Barshop??  I am totally intrigued by this woman and can't wait to learn more about her and see her interact more with the ladies.  Something tells me she will be able to navigate in their world just fine!!!

I enjoyed the New York premiere.  No over the top drama.  Nothing dark and no soft porn!!  So far so good!!!
