The Real Housewives of Miami: Cooking Classes?

posted by RF Club, Group AdministratorSaturday, April 2nd 2011 @ 2:50 PM (not yet rated)

Hello??  Anybody out there??  (I just had to write that and yes I giggled while typing it)

I will say it again, these women were doomed.  They followed a hit, they bumped a favorite and I will be writing a post a little later about their flaws!  I do believe that these women had potential but they shot themselves in the foot and they can't blame it all on timing.

Anyway, onto the Finale of The Real Housewives of Miami for those of us who stuck by this little series.  The episode starts with Marysol Patton and her mother, Elsa.  I will not pick on Elsa's face.  I cannot believe the cruelty on Twitter.  The things people are willing to say on Twitter astounds me.  I don't post anything on Twitter or my blog that if I ran into the person I would not be willing to stand behind.  Now, sure, it is easier to type things on a computer behind the safety of the computer screen than say things to a person's face but when writing I try to keep in the back of my mind, "Lucy, if for whatever reason you had to meet this person how would you feel?"  Okay, that was just a little personal side note. Oh, and one more thingy, maybe the people who say things on Twitter would say it to Elsa's face and if they would than they are cruel and I am glad I don't know those people in real life, they would scare the bajesus out of me (LOL).
Okay, back to Marysol and her mother Elsa.  They are looking at Marysol's wedding pictures and the wedding pictures are beautiful, just beautiful but it is the conversation that gets good!  Elsa asks Marysol if she is going to have children.  Marysol dances around the question but basically it is clear Marysol doesn't want kids.  All I was thinking was, "Marysol, you and your husband should have had this very important discussion before running off and getting married."  Oh, boy not thinking this marriage is going to last.  They end the scene with Elsa asking her daughter how many husbands she has had??  Marysol answers, "Only two."  Her mother replies back "Oh, I thought three or four."  Marysol counters, "No, not yet, give me time."  They both giggle. Oh, and I have to mention, Marysol's dress in that scene, loved it, just loved it!

Next up, Alexia and her son Peter.  Sounds like Mama has a plan for Peter.  I could not get a 'read' on Peter?  Not sure if the young man wants to model or not but mama thinks it is a great idea.  By the way Alexia has all the connections to get him started.  It isn't so much 'handing it to him' , no, it is guiding him and making it a little easier for him, so Alexia claims. Not sure about that one??   Listen, I don't fault Alexia at all for using her connections.  Most, not all, but most parents try to help their children BUT Peter should be approaching Alexia and saying he would like to pursue modeling.  I just didn't quite get that impression but then again Alexia was trying to tell him in the nicest way possible that he needs to break out of his shell.  Maybe the young man is a little too shy??  Just not overly sure who wants the modeling career??  Mama or Peter?

Off to Larsa and her clothing party charity.  We get some interesting tidbits in the interviews during this scene.  Cristy Rice informs us that basically Lea Black is nothing in Miami without her husband.  Lea is from Texas.  Basically, you can tell, Cristy thinks Lea needs to go back to Texas.  Cristy is a Miami native and you can instantly tell she gets sick of the transplants!  Lea in her interviews claims she has no problem with Cristy.  Lea states that she will never start a fight and to top it off she went to Larsa's little charity clothing thing to be supportive of Larsa, end of story for Lea!
Now, Larsa, Larsa, Larsa!  She was sooo worried that another one of her events would be ruined by Adriana.  Therefore, Larsa thought she would do a preemptive strike and ask Adriana "what the hell were you up to at my cooking class?"  Adriana gave some bullshit story that she was trying to be light and not make a scene and she had a right to ask Cristy about the ticket because she was on the committee.  Um, no, not really how it went down but Larsa, LET IT GO!!  It was JUST a cooking class, it is finished and over.  No one cares but Larsa.
Adriana then goes onto model a bathing suit at the clothing party and it was too funny when her panties were sticking out the back.  I must admit Adriana does love the camera to be on ADRIANA but Cristy and Larsa standing around gossiping about her is the best!!!  Why??  Because we know women do it all the time.  I guarantee you if I was at a clothing party and one of the women strutted her stuff in a bathing suit, OH MY, she would be the talk of the party and later, the talk of the town.  Typically, grown women don't strut their stuff in front of other grown women.  TACKY!!  Now, I knew Adriana was ramping it up for the Bravo cameras  BUT, Cristy, Larsa and the friend had to go back to gossiping about the stupid luncheon/cooing class and how Adriana ruined it.  AGAIN, LET IT GO!!  Then, when Adriana was leaving 'the friend' claimed Adriana was all traumatized by the three women??  I didn't quite get that statement AND Adriana was definitely happy little bee.  She loved strutting her stuff and all the attention and in Adriana's interview she claimed Cristy was and is jealous of her.  Nope, Adriana was far from traumatized by the 'mean girls'.  The mean girls haven't realized that the other women really don't give two shits about them (LOL)

Next up we get the setup for Marysol's cooking class.  Marysol talks with her new hubby, Philippe, and they decide to have a dinner and he will be the 'chef'. Probably not the best idea but Philippe is selling all organic stuff and it was the perfect setup for a Bravo infomercial, except the women bashed the product.  Wow, great friends (LOL).  Now,  Let us get to the dinner conversation, well if you can call it that (LOL)!  The women arrive and Larsa asks Marysol about her mother being psychic and Marysol explains that her mother doesn't like to say she is psychic.  It is more she gets a 'feel' or energy about people.
Anyway, Elsa certainly redeems psychics at this meal.  In other words, Alison DuBois who goes out of her way to claim she is awesome made a fool of herself during the Beverly Hills dinner and  Elsa who is low key and likes to just have a good conversation really nailed the guest to the wall!  Oh, my what a dinner!
Larsa corners Elsa and asks her for a 'reading'.  It is clear that Elsa does not get good 'energy' from Larsa and she just wants to move on.  Finally, at the dinner after much prodding by Larsa, Elsa informs Larsa that she is emotionally immature and that she will have more that one husband.  Larsa loses it and the entire dinner goes to hell.  Larsa proves she is immature.  Honestly, Larsa would not let it go.  She got loud and obnoxious.  In addition, Larsa announces that she does not believe in psychics and just asked Elsa for the reading so as to be amused.  This was the ultimate insult to Elsa.  Lea tried desperately to joke around and lighten up the situation.  Alexia tried to move conversation towards her by asking for a reading.  Alexia did not like her reading but accepted it graciously and moved on.  Elsa tried to talk deeply with Cristy who was gracious too but it was uncomfortable because it was clear that Elsa nailed Cristy's situation, just look at Cristy's face.  Elsa told Cristy that she screwed up her relationship with her ex-husband.  Cristy claims her ex-husband over reacted to a man in the home and it was all innocent.  Raise your hand if you believe that statement.  Wow, no hands raised,.  Why am I not surprised.  Keep in mind, through it all, little Larsa kept pouting about her reading.  The woman is so immature.  Then, Larsa began claiming she could read people.  Talk about being IMMATURE.  What I loved the best was Larsa's belief about life.  See, Larsa thinks that ONE should always get a few compliments before any criticism.  Larsa said Elsa should have stated that Larsa had "great hair and a great spirit".  Larsa thinks everyone should always be critiqued like a teacher and/or like a boss would review you.  See, typically teachers and bosses do the couple of compliments before they offer constructive criticism but "Larsa, in REAL LIFE people don't have to follow that rule."  Lastly, Larsa is a product of parents who never open their child's eyes to their faults.  These children grow up to be emotionally immature.  They can't handle any criticism.  Larsa said it, "My mom always patted me on the back and said everything I did was fabulous"  that my friends is horrible parenting.  At some point you need to be honest with your child.  No one is perfect.  Your child will not do everything fabulously and if the parent doesn't point out their child's flaws to them  in a constructive manner then they grow up to be a LARSA!!!

Anyway, it did not end with the dinner Larsa had Cristy over to her house and she just pissed and moaned about what Elsa did to her and claimed Elsa attacked her and Elsa needs a dog to learn responsibility and on and on and on.  Cristy knows to just agree with Larsa when she goes on a tangent and Cristy even said in her interviews that Larsa cannot handle criticism.  Both ladies felt that Marysol should have stopped her mother.  I must admit I thought at some point Marysol needed to stop it but I think when Larsa disrespected her mom, Marysol thought, tough shit!

Marysol and Elsa chatted briefly about the dinner.  Both felt it was a disaster and both felt that Larsa over reacted, was immature and ruined the party.  I must agree with them.  Marysol in her interview claimed she saw a side of Larsa that she did not like nor did she want to associate with Larsa anymore.  I think these two ladies will no longer be 'hanging out'.  I doubt they did much together in the first place but this sealed deal.

Enough of that silly dinner party!

Back to Alexia and Peter AND modeling.  Alexia takes her son to a modeling agency.  Now, he is seventeen.  I can understand Alexia going to the session.  She should be there to guide him.   Alexia should  Listen, and make sure he understands what he is 'signing' up for BUT there is a difference between guiding and doing all the talking.  Peter relies too much on MOMMY.  The guy was talking to PETER and MOMMY was answering, OH I HATE that and Alexia should have taught him by making PETER answer the questions.  I liked that the guy spoke directly to Peter.  Peter might be handsome but if he doesn't start talking and opening his mouth the young man will be in serious trouble.  At some point Alexia needs to not be in every meeting.  Or, at least she needs to shut the hell up and listen and let Peter answer the questions.  Alexia needs to learn the art of GUIDING!!!

Adriana does a photo shoot!  C'mon we all do this with our guys, right??  Yeah, whatever.  This chick definitely staged her scenes for Bravo.  Frederic did a sexy photo shoot of Adriana on their way to a little private beach where they had a champagne picnic lunch.  We watched them kiss and Adriana begged for marriage again and then practically had sex with him right on national television, gross.  We survived their getaway weekend and then this, ugh!

We, then got a nice family scene!  Peter's graduation party.  It was a lovely party.  Alexia announces that Peter got a modeling booking and then gave a lovely speech to her son for graduating.  Very touching.  In Alexia's interview we learned that she had moments of wondering if Peter would make it to graduation day.  Peter obviously struggled and he even struggled with some depression when he suffered from a shoulder injury that stopped him from participating in his love of sports.  You could tell that Alexia was a thrilled mother and it was touching!

Lea's cooking class and the ending of Real Housewives of Miami!  They went to Paradise Farms,an organic farm.  In addition a famous chef, Michelle Bernstein, cooked for them!

Chef

The women bitched! AGAIN.  I do believe these women bitched at every single cooking event.  Talk about women who are pains in the asses.  The farm looked very nice and I do believe that many people would have loved to have gone and have a  FAMOUSchef  (hell any chef) prepare a meal.  Spoiled bitches.  "Try being poor for a day and fixing your own damn meals."  I was really over the women by now.  In addition, before the trip began to the farm MISS LITTLE LARSA had to bitch to Marysol about her mother and the reading her mother gave.  She told Marysol how her mother should give a reading and that her mother was completely wrong but don't get the wrong impression Larsa can take criticism.  I do believe I heard someone laugh.  Anyway, all the women complained about the lunch, the salad, the mosquitoes, the heat, just everything.  Then, to top it off, Larsa tells Marysol that her mother is a bitch.

I don't think I will ever think of a cooking class without thinking of the Miami ladies and to be honest I don't think any of them had a real cooking class.  It makes you wonder if any of them know the MEANING of cooking class??? I don't think it is that hard to figure out, do you??

Oh, well, it was a short season and I doubt we will see these ladies again.  I do believe they shot themselves in the foot and I will explain that one later!!

I am looking forward to the reunion because Larsa should be a treat to watch, the woman can't help herself, she just can't!
