The Real Housewives of Orange County!
Where to begin??? Well, let's begin where the show started. Tamra in a limo heading off to pick up Vicki. Tamra calls Eddie her new found love to say she is on her way and she has sunblock and her cowboy hat. The sexy new lover asks, "Is that all you are wearing?" and laughs. Oh, the beginnings of new love. It is always fun but what many of these women don't know or understand is there is a lot to be said for making it through the rough spots with a man. In addition, lust isn't always what gets you through life. I wonder if they will be happy at 70 or 80 when they are alone because they couldn't sustain a relationship??? Oh, my I have digressed. Okay, onward we go.... Tamra explains that this trip is about making up with Vicki. Bravo then flashes back to last year reminding us how Tamra claimed Vicki is a jealous and insecure person. I have seen that side of Vicki but not a nice thing for a friend say. Anyway, right before Vicki gets into the limo we get Vicki's interview and she says that Tamra needs to make things right and basically calls it a "courtship". "Geez, Vicki, maybe if you worked this hard to save your marriage instead of your friendship, well, I might like you." Limo ride is typical Vicki. She had to work and Tamra had nothing to do. This led to silliness!
Onto Gretchen and Alexis. Oh, it seems these two women are not fan favorites. Well, that being said, I will admit up front that I think they seem to be genuine friends at this point.
So, these two meet for drinks? I think it was drinks? Anyway, Gretchen starts talking about her parents 40th anniversary and doing something special which leads to her fears about marriage. I am baffled with Gretchen. She seemed willing to marry Jeff and she seems unwilling to marry Slade?? Jeff seemed to have money, Slade has no money??? I have no problem with a woman having concerns marrying a guy that is unstable but I wish that Gretchen would say that instead of claiming it is about marriage itself. This silly talk about the Lease thing and so on. Just silly! I know she doesn't want to look like a gold digger but there is a big difference between gold digging and wanting a guy with stability. Slade at this point has no stability and Gretchen is pulling all the weight and that would concern any partner.
Now, we have talk about Alexis. She cracks me up. I know she is trying her hardest to be the good Christian but she just doesn't get it. The good Christian would have serious issues with sex outside of marriage, a child outside of wedlock and divorce. It is clear these things don't bother Alexis but what Alexis doesn't get is the Bible doesn't say, "pick and choose what rules you like" and the Bible didn't say, "now things will change with modern times so roll with it." I think Alexis should keep her BIBLE statements to herself and she should just live a decent life. In addition, I think she wants to be a stay at home mom and she doesn't need to claim it is because of the Bible. I was a stay at home mom,well, for the most part and I am Catholic but I will tell you I didn't do it because of the Bible , I guess you could say I was more on the 'traditional' side but not because THE LORD was telling me "You must be at home with your kids!" I believe Alexis needs to take an in-depth Bible study class.
Vicki and Tamra land in Mexico!! They enter their beautiful penthouse hotel room. Where Vickie stakes claim to the larger master bedroom! Of course, to begin the party weekend the ladies start with shots of Tequila and they have no clue how to do the shots. I would have googled it? I mean, Vicki always has her handy dandy laptop but whatever, they managed about three shots each to get things rolling!! And, Vicki reminds Tamra AGAIN that she stabbed her in the back or better yet, ran her over with a truck!
Alexis the dressmaker?? Now, I know some of you are going to disagree with me but I don't have a problem with Alexis attempting to realize a dream. I think, maybe if I speak your language you might see it differently. Wouldn't your idol, Bethenny Frankel say that Alexis should go for it?? "A Place Yes" is all about grabbing your dream, right?? I think Alexis is using her fifteen minutes of fame to attempt to jump start something she enjoys. In addition, Alexis is smart. She got a designer and she consults with the designer. I live in area that has boutiques full of local artists and I think people should follow their artistic dreams. If Alexis feels she has that quality and she works well with a designer than more power to her but I feel bad that her husband won't allow her to put the time and effort in that it takes to start a business. Typically, you can't start up a business as a part time deal but if the partner/designer is willing to do more of the blood, sweat and tears and Alexis provides the funds then it might work! Tamra making fun of her cracks me up because Tamra working in real estate a couple hours a week is an even bigger joke! Really, Tamra should stop throwing stones!!
Peggy Tanous and postpartum depression. It was sad listening to her story but I must admit I was wondering why she was doing a reality show if she continues to struggle with the depression?? People who have to work or ACTORS/MUSICIANS that are in the limelight already have no choice but Peggy had a choice??? Reality television is just THAT, REALITY TELEVISION. Why would you jeopardize your family?? Also, I feel the need to make a Public Service Announcement. Please do not, for the LOVE OF GOD, tweet her for advice if you are feeling like you might be experiencing postpartum depression. SEE A DOCTOR. A REAL DOCTOR for the sake of your child and you! Do not turn to a reality person or any celebrity. TURN TO A PROFESSIONAL.
Back to Mexico! Date night with Vicki and Tamra. Who felt sorry for the waiter?? I see a lot of hands raising!!! I felt so bad for the waiter. He could have cared less about their relationship and the TRUCK rolling over Vicki's back. Oh, and the silly "Let's take a walk on the beach" I was glad that Tamra finally said, "Maybe you need to hang out with Fernanda a little when we get back" Then, we had to have the weird statement from Vicki, "write me a friendship speech." Okay, what is the deal with these grown women???
I did enjoy the serious talk about happy Tamra and it was clear that Tamra struck a chord about Don but Vicki wasn't ready to spill any beans yet. Oh, a side note, Caesar Salads at gourmet places have anchovies, dah?? Who is lacking in class now? I mean what was all the barking and shaking, deja vu and Alexis spitting her food out!
Gretchen and her dad! What a talk!! Her Dad is over her living with Slade and I think deep down he wants his daughter to make a decision. I think he has reservations about Slade but I think deep down he wants Gretchen to settle down, stop living with a guy and get serious AND he wants her to decide if Slade is the guy she wants to do it with! Gretchen's Dad wants his daughter to grow up!!!
And we are off to Mexico again! Tamra and Vicki are hanging out at the pool. Sunning, drinking and talking. We get a little more information about Don and Vicki. Don was not an attentive guy for Vicki early in the marriage and Vicki dealt with it and now Don is dealing with Vicki! But, then we get to hear about Tamra and her fun FIVE hour sex, walking like a cowboy, burning 3,000 calories and doing it to 'Lady Gaga'. I loved Vicki's interviews!! "I'm Fucking happy for the bitch". Of course, then Tamra has to decide that "Everyone wants a pretty little kitty" and unfortunately she wasn't talking about the ANIMAL. Nope, Tamra has decided that women need LUBE jobs. MEANING, we need our vaginas tightened up. Oh, GOD, does that woman have a brain??? Vicki was dying, just dying during the entire conversation. For Vicki it went from bad to worse. Vicki didn't want to discuss the five hour sex but she really didn't want to discuss tightening up her vagina, especially since her's is perfect!! Tamra informed Vicki that this was all apart of girlfriend talk! I must admit my friends are boring. Yep, we never talk about our sex life and we certainly have never discussed the tightening of our vaginas (LOL)
We go from one nonsense to the next nonsense! Peggy and her push present! I have never EVER heard of such a thing and honestly I can't stand women who think they deserve a present for having a child. Anyway, Peggy proudly tells us she got her BENTLEY for pushing out her child!!! Yeah, hooray for Peggy. As the happy Tanous family packs up for a get away weekend her husband proudly counts off all the gadgets they are bringing?? Not sure why you need all those gadgets for a getaway?? Oh, well!! The little one, Capri (why would you name your kid after pants?) cuts her finger and Peggy goes bananas! So Silly!! Some people should not have kids but they do and hospitals and Urgent cares just love parents that over react and take time away from the ill patients so mommy can feel better. You read that last sentence with sarcasm, right?? Anyway, my message to Peggy, "No, Peggy, it is not better safe than sorry. Use common sense." I hope she calms down as she raises her children or they will turn out to be messes too! The husband needs to learn how to calm Peggy down and not cave to her fears!!
AND THEN we move onto pure disgust! I guess I am a prude. Tamra is a mother of four, three young children and Vicki is married and the behavior in the pool appalled me. It begins with Tamra professing her love for Vicki by stating just how gorgeous Vicki is and what awesome knockers she has and asked a guy to confirm. Gotta love men, they so go with the flow. I would have loved for the guy to say, "Yeah, she has decent knockers for a woman in her fifties?" Tamra would have shit her pants and Vicki would have screamed foul words and swore up and down she wasn't fifty yet. Anyway, the pool wasn't happening enough so Tamra knows how to get the crowd going, she yells SHOTS!! They entice her to to do body shots. The newly divorced mother says, "Hell yes!" And there you go! We, the viewers, are watching a 43 year old mom doing body shots!!! Listen, I am all for having fun but she knew she was being filmed and is it really something you want your children or their friends seeing?? When do you stop thinking of yourself and remember you have a family to think about??? Vicki might not have done the body shots but flirting, c'mon, that is wrong, so wrong and it is bad for a marriage. Would you want your husband or steady boyfriend behaving in that manner??? There is innocent flirting and then there is dangerous flirting. Vicki was WAY INTO DANGEROUS FLIRTING! I have no respect for Tamra pushing it along!!
Alexis and shopping with her twin girls. Oh, I couldn't even imagine!! I laughed when she said, "Can I go work on my dress line now?"
Now, time to throw up!! Tamra and Vicki professing their love for each other. Oh, I just wanted to throw up. I am glad Vicki forgave Tamra but how silly was the "I love you, I value our friendship, friends forever" speech. I guess I am just a bad friend because I just honestly could not imagine having such a conversation with any of my close friends. I show them that they are my friends. I am there for them and maybe that is why we don't have to profess our love for each other in words.
I just wanted to throw up! At several points throughout the episode! How about you??
