Bethenny Ever After!
Hey, I think this is the first episode of the season I can actually say to die hard Bethenny Fans, "You can stick around, this post isn't too rough" (LOL). I actually enjoyed this episode of Bethenny Ever After.
Okay, the gist of this episode was getting Bryn baptized. I, honestly understand that Bethenny wants to live her life from a 'place of yes' but I think she is starting to understand that she is a mother now, and maybe, just maybe, she might want to look into to things before jumping with her child. Of course, Gina was not putting Bryn in danger when planning her Church's blessing of Bryn but I think that Jason and Bethenny learned a valuable lesson. Gina's Church Blessing resembled a Baptism and Bryn had not been baptized yet and before Bethenny and Jason knew it they felt like their daughter was partaking in a Baptism. To top it off, Jason's parents were not there and worse, Bethenny knew that it was not a Baptism of Jason's faith. All kinds of lines were being crossed and it all happened because 'a place of yes' led them there. Jason had no idea how to extricate himself and them from the situation and yet he knew it was not what he wanted. In addition, Bethenny knew it was wrong. Thank God she went into mama mode and grabbed the child and fled. I don't think she did it because she felt Bryn was in danger. Nope, I think deep down Bethenny thought it felt like a Baptism, she heard the word Baptism and she knew that Jason and his parents would never forgive her. Bethenny knew deep down Jason's parents would blame her for dragging their son and grandchild into the situation. They would blame Bethenny for everything and Bethenny ran.
The ultimate Catholic Baptism was beautiful and not because it was a Catholic Baptism. It was beautiful because it was of Jason's faith, with Bethenny's permission and blessing. We saw the parents plan it. Bethenny tenderly asked Julie to be the godmother and that was a special moment. The only thing that I found interesting was the fact that they did not use Jason's parents church?? If Jason grew up in Hazelton and grew up in the faith, I would assume his parents belong to the local Catholic church and typically if you do not belong to a church in your city then you go back to your hometown church?? I have gotten the impression that Jason is not a Practicing Catholic?? Anyway, I just thought that they would use his hometown church? Otherwise, the small, family baptism was touching and it was great that Gina was included too.
Now, as a mother that has raised two kids many moons ago and yet I am only five years older than Bethenny, I just had to giggle during the baby proofing scene. I understand that lady makes her money off of teaching the rich mommies how to baby proof but it was soooo silly. I had my kids at the young age of 22 and 26 years old. I read a few books on parenting. We did our best at baby proofing and then we used good old common sense. Listen, if you could only protect your child from everything every second of their life, well, that would be great but at some point you have to trust your gut, do your level best and then live your life. Crawling around and trying to 'think' and 'see' like your child, gosh, what will they think of next (LOL)! I was laughing my ass off!!!
Halloween! Who liked the clowns better?? Well, I did!! Hey, they could have had a little clown?? Not sure what was up with Bethenny thinking they had to be a family of Pandas??? Oh, well, honestly, we never dressed up with our kids. Our little ones were the stars! In addition, we stopped by Grandma and Grandpa's house? I noticed Bethenny WON! They went out to Suburbia with friends, very interesting??
A couple things I need to nitpick about. I don't like the scenes with the shrink. I just feel those are inappropriate. In addition, I understand that Bethenny needs to discuss her feelings about growing up but they are Bethenny's feelings. We only hear her perspective. I am very careful about judging parents when they are not there to defend or give their side of the story. I am not defending Bethenny's mom. I am just saying that I don't like the therapy sessions and I personally think Bethenny needs to resolve her childhood issues and not on reality television. The other issue is Gina, the baby nurse. I find it interesting that Jason giggles when Gina talks 'fresh' with him. You know, the TACO conversation. Gina jokingly saying it always has to be HARD. Listen, if I had a nanny or baby nurse they would not speak in that manner with my husband. NO FUCKING WAY!!! What I find even funnier is the fact that Jason and Bethenny feel that Gina speaking in that manner is FUNNY and yet Max asking MEN, (and it was MEN), in a jokingly manner for condoms is highly inappropriate. According to Bethenny it was SERIOUSLY crossing a line. WTF??? Bethenny has some strange ass lines! I would be confused if I was Max.
Anyway, back to THIS episode, it was by far the most delightful episode and I truly enjoyed Bethenny and Bethenny Ever After!
