The Real Housewives of Miami: Roasting Pigs

posted by RF Club, Group AdministratorSunday, March 20th 2011 @ 7:15 PM (not yet rated)

The Real Housewives of Miami!

Oh, once again these poor ladies just are lacking in the WOW! Factor but I still enjoy some of their moments.  I feel bad for the Miami ladies.  They came after the Beverly Hills hit and they bumped the New York gals!  Anyway, I am going to keep this short!

This last episode was interesting. Let us start with Marysol.   Marysol got engaged and I was slightly baffled?  Marysol seemed stunned and yet she seemed to know it was coming too.  Obviously, the two had discussed it.  He knew the ring she wanted??  In addition, he asked Marysol on camera, no man would do it that without an inkling of the answer.  I understand the tradition of asking the father for the hand but c'mon?  Marysol is quite a bit older, I mean I am not talking about their age difference.  Nope,  I am referring to the fact that Marysol is an older woman getting married AGAIN.  It just seemed silly, the asking the father for her hand question.  I got the impression her father thought it was silly too.  I mean her father said to the guy, "I don't even know your last name but sure, what the hell, marry my daughter."  What a ringing endorsement from a father.  (You read that with sarcasm, right? (lol)).
Now, the wedding dresses were beautiful, just gorgeous but the entire rush off to Denver, odd, just odd.  In addition, it is hard to get into the whole wedding thing because I haven't had a chance to get to know these two people, so I am just lacking the feeling of love and romance but I think it is because we, the viewers, have not been along for the journey.  You know, we entered in the last act, so to speak.

Okay, now the entire roasting of the pig.  Listen, I was grossed out by it BUT, and here is the BIG BUT, I understand other cultures and traditions.  Lea was a BITCH.  I would never EVER act like that in someone's home and disrespect their home and culture. PERIOD.  Alexia cracked me up when she was dealing with the pig.  I would have puked, just puked but once again, it is a cuban tradition.  Hell, I have a TEXAN friend and they love to roast pigs, and he is as AMERICAN as they come.
I must admit, I can't stand Larsa Pippen but she handled herself the best at the dinner.  She didn't say a word about not eating meat.  Larsa, politely sat there and ate around the meat and kept her mouth shut.  Now, in her INTERVIEW man, she went after Marysol, calling her a porker and saying she was gonna turn into a little pig by the end of the evening, WOW!!  I am thinking Larsa has some hidden issues with Marysol (LOL)
Oh, and Lea stating, "I didn't know he needed a green card?"  When Marysol announced her engagement, yikes, that was bad and she kept saying it and Larsa tried to get her to stop.  Oh, and I guess Lea does drink because she was drinking at that dinner.  The only thing I must admit is Lea is right she said what a lot of people will think but THAT IS THE POINT, "LEA, most people will only THINK IT, NOT SAY IT, duh!"

Cristy Rice, that lady, oh, I don't even like using the word LADY with her, she just reminds me of trash that married well, yuck.  The woman grates on my  nerves, how about you guys??  Anyway, it is interesting that she went to lunch and claimed she paid for her ticket and has no idea why Lea sent an invoice?  "Well, Cristy, that doesn't make sense and Lea doesn't seem like a person to invoice someone who pays?  Seems to me that you, darling, are covering your tracks?"

Adriana is a mess, a walking mess.  I think the woman doesn't know if she is coming or going.  Worse, I don't think she loves Fredric but she is to afraid to be ALONE.  I must admit I liked that Lea was willing to talk FRANK with Adriana.  It is hard to be up front with a friend and it does seem like Adriana and Lea are FRIENDS.  The one thing I would like to tell both ladies, "It won't be the end of the world if Adriana's son can't go to the private school.  There are worse fates in the world.  I don't think a fundraiser is necessary and the kid can go to public school like good old American kids."

Well, The Real Housewives of Miami are just about to wrap up and I am glad that Bravo kept their debut short.  Rumor has it they are airing their reunion live.  I watch all the Housewives series and if they come back I will watch, just like if the DC ladies come back but to be honest, I wouldn't care if Miami didn't make it back or DC but I wasn't all that jazzed about New Jersey either.  Honestly, I have always been fine with Orange County, New York City, Atlanta and I must admit I like Beverly Hills!
