The Real Housewives of Miami!
I will keep this short. I mean why waste my time writing about The Real Housewives of Miami (RHMIA) since it seems no one is watching this series of Housewives. Well, I'm a sucker, I like the many, Real Housewives series! Now, I like some more than others and just like I trudged through the D.C. series I will stick it out with the Miami ladies too. I actually find the Miami ladies more interesting than the D.C. group and mind you, I did like the D.C. women. But, each series has their own problems. The D.C. Housewives were a little on the boring side and the Salahi's had pissed off Americans beyond interest. The Real Housewives of Miami have a different set of problems. As I stated in my first blog post about the Miami ladies, I believe part of their problem is they bumped the beloved Real Housewives of New York City (RHONY). Although, I that kind of cracks me up because when RHONY ended their season fans swore up one side and down the other they would not watch if Jill Zarin returned and many claimed the same thing about Kelly Killoren Bensimon. Therefore, I find it funny that fans have thrown such a little hissy fit when RHONY got bumped for RHMIA, seeing how,both, Jill and Kelly, returned to New York City! Guess, the fans are going to watch New York City after all, (LOL).
Onto, The Real Housewives of Miami and their other problems! It seems that Bravo wasn't going to put a lot of effort into filming this series. Just seems that Bravo is changing filming, less individual and more group. I wrote more about that theory in my post about the Orange County ladies. Therefore, they wanted this group to film more group events. Viola, The cooking lunches were created. I am assuming for cost purposes and easy women interaction. The problem, it seems that these women don't know each other all that well and the lunches are forced. Supposedly, the women were going to make it a priority and that quickly faded. The cooking lunches are just not natural and not working. We, the viewers need to know the women too in order for us to enjoy the group lunches along with the women for it to work. Honestly the lunches would be better on OC, NY or Atlanta.
The other problem these women are acting for the cameras. Nothing with them feels natural. It all feels so staged with this group. There are a few exceptions, Marysol Patton and Lea Black. These two women seem to genuinely be putting themselves out there in what little time they got with the camera crews. Adriana De Moura seems to be auditioning for something?? No, wait, she thinks she is a celebrity along with Cristy Rice. These two act like Prima donna's and I think they thought the show was going to make them big time REALITY STARS. I guess you could say they were counting their chicks before they hatched. Adriana was 90 minutes late for lunch and she said part of the reason was she was getting her makeup done, she had to look good. The implication was for the cameras. We, then witnessed her being several hours late for her own Gallery opening and again it was for her appearance. Adriana knew that it was her event and it was being filmed. I guess I would love to know if she truly always had hair and makeup 'people' before filming and if she was always that late for things or if this was all orchestrated for television. Once again, staged, maybe not by Bravo but by the housewife and what she doesn't get is as a viewer we can 'feel' it. Cristy Rice is constantly posing when she sits, walks and talks. WATCH her closely. Now, I saved Mrs. Larsa Pippen for last. I think she is a mix. I think she is doing her own staging, you know like Ramona's RENEW, last year. Larsa is very much aware that everyone knows her husband Scottie Pippen and there is no way to hide how well off they are so she tries to play it off. Larsa embraces their wealth but she likes to play it that she is low key. It is not working with her firing speech of the nannies, is it? This week she was the benevolent sister and bought her younger brother,( a 16 year old) a car. Scottie gave her a set price and the salesman had no problem agreeing to $24, 900.00 for Scottie Pippen's wife, imagine that? Do you think it would have been that easy for you or me (LOL) I must admit it would be fun for a day or two to have that kind of 'power', ha! ha! I gotta just dream for a moment what would a I get, oh, I just don't know, my mind is scrambling (LOL). Now, I wish I could say that I thought Larsa Pippen was acting when her brother was driving the car and she was giggling and shrieking and saying, "slow down, I'm worried you are going too fast." See, I think Larsa believes her little 'act' is cute and she especially thinks males like all that shrieking and giggling, ugh. I guess it worked for Scottie and she has all she needs and therefore, I have NO IDEA why she joined RHMIA. So, that is my take on Larsa Pippen, she tries to play the cutsie, rich wife. YUCK! Oh, my gosh I almost forgot Alexia!! Alexia is a trip. I think she is interesting and genuinely has first season camera jitters. I believe if we looked at all the first seasons we would see some of this with all the ladies. Alexia seems to be a little unnatural and maybe even trying to edit her words. The scene with her son buying his girlfriend a $600 ring on her credit card and he does not work??? C'mon, show some real parent emotion. And, if you think that is how you discipline him then honey, you are in trouble, serious, serious trouble!!!
In the end The Real Housewives of Miami are no worse and no better than the D.C. ladies just different and I will be a loyal Housewife fan and watch RHMIA. I do doubt they make it back. The fans are not taking to them. I don't blame Bravo for not bringing them back. It is all about numbers so I would assume D.C. and Miami will go down in flames.
One last suggestion, you should tune in at least once to see the self proclaimed WITCH, on RHMIA, she is a hoot, Marysol's mom, Elsa is great!!
