The Real Housewives of Atlanta Reunion Part I
I watched the show and Twitter at the same time. I must admit I was amazed at the tweets. It seemed that many of the Real Housewives fans felt the Reunion was boring??? I am not sure if I think it was boring or just not what we expect from the Atlanta crew?? See, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills has challenged the women to bring THE HOUSEWIVES back to a more cordial environment. The Atlanta ladies always had a nice balance of drama and if you ask me the Jersey ladies brought it to a low class level. What is funny everyone blames Danielle Staub and yet it was Teresa Giudice that flipped a table and threw Andy. The Atlanta ladies definitely had their stressful moments but I dare say Teresa has had the lowest moments, in my opinion.
Anyway, the Atlanta ladies just seemed so SUBDUED at the reunion. Which I think led us, the viewers, to feel the reunion was boring. I disagree a tiny bit! I could feel the TENSION through the television. NeNe Leakes was having a difficult time sitting on that stage. Oh, and I don't believe that she felt it was all KIM. NeNe clearly felt alienated from all the women except Cynthia and no matter how much NeNe has spiraled out of control that is horrible position for anyone to be in.
It is clear the HOUSEWIVES collude with each other and I must admit I am not sure how much I like it?? I know deep down that these shows ARE NOT REALITY but the more they stage and the women collude the more they turn me off.
Now, I do agree Part I lacked any REAL new insight I am going to just 'chat' with you about a few of the things I found interesting.
Phaedra and NeNe??
Clearly there are jealousy issues. Here is my take. NeNe and Kim are the 'break out' stars of the Atlanta series. They are either hated or loved but they definitely get the most PRESS. Phaedra Parks wanted to latch onto to NeNe using their hometown. NOW, do I think that NeNe didn't have any idea who Phaedra was?? Nah! I think that there is some truth to what both women are claiming. Phaedra claimed NeNe called her to do a television show?? Neither lady stated when this so called phone call took place but NeNe did admit to the phone call and she admits that she KNOWS of her. NeNe was stating that she felt Phaedra was misleading people by claiming they grew up together. I must admit that in early interviews and just the way Phaedra stated things, personally, I did get the impression they did know each other quite well. I understand they grew up in a small town but it doesn't sound that small?? It was big enough for two high schools, 3 middle schools and so forth. In addition, NeNe is older than Phaedra, so much older that they were not even in High School at the same time. Personally, I am two years older than NeNe and I can tell you that there are people that graduated just two years younger than me that I don't even know and I went to a small private Catholic High School. Hell, to be honest, I don't remember everyone in my graduating class?? Do you?? I think NeNe contacted Phaedra because at one time Phaedra was talked about because of her connections and she was from Athens and NeNe thought she might attempt to 'trade in' on the hometown connection BUT she wasn't claiming they grew up together. It would be like someone contacting me and using our High School connection and then moving forward. In the end, I think the two women were splitting hairs. NeNe's point was they didn't hang out together, they didn't go to school together, they didn't have a connection beyond the hometown. Phaedra needed to just say "Yep, you are right but we do have the hometown connection and you called me once because of that special connection, isn't that what we do in life?" But, I think Phaedra has a hard time admitting when she is wrong. You know, like her DUE DATE debacle!!!

The big bombshell for me was NeNe stating that Kim had no problem allowing Big Poppa call Sweetie "Black Bitch". Kim fluffed that off and said, "Well, that is Big Poppa, not me" That makes no sense. Kim claims that she has an eleven year old relationship with Sweetie and that NeNe referring to her as a "SLAVE" is what sent her over the edge but Big Poppa calling her "Black Bitch" is okay?? Is that how you let an old friend be treated?? In addition, NeNe stated that Big Poppa said it repeatedly. It shouldn't have been said once but repeatedly?? I felt bad that when NeNe turned to Sheree she stuttered while backing NeNe up. That is when I KNEW the women had an alliance going on because a white man calling a black woman a "Black Bitch" would typically piss Miss Sheree off. RIGHT??? Sheree claimed she heard him say it once and yes she didn't like it. Then, she reluctantly agreed that Lisa did say she heard him say it more than once. But, my goodness, it was like pulling teeth out of Sheree. Anyway, all the Housewives reluctantly stated they didn't like the way Kim talked to Sweetie but it was between Kim and Sweetie. Kandi and Phaedra turned IT into a racial issue and I do see the racial issue BUT I agree with NeNe. NOT HER TACTICS but her sentiment. It is a HUMAN BEING issue. Any way that Kim and Sweetie slice it, Kim talks to Sweetie like a dog and Sweetie takes it. NeNe called her a slave and Sweetie responded by saying, " Slaves didn't get paid, dumbass." Here is my response to Sweetie, "Just because you get PAID to do something doesn't mean you are not being degraded. PROSTITUTES get paid, and some get PAID DAMN WELL!! Therefore, my question to you, SWEETIE is how much are you selling your self-worth for?"
What is sad to me is Kim stated that she pays Sweetie very little. Therefore, Sweetie takes Kim's shit for little pay??? Wow!!
I agree with the other housewives to a certain extent that the issue is between Sweetie and Kim but I guarantee you that if I was around all that screaming and bantering and disrespect I would not keep my mouth shut. I would not handle it in the same manner that NeNe chose but the housewives sitting by quietly are just as wrong. We tweet and claim we shouldn't allow abuse and then when we are around it and we let it go because we don't want to rock the boat. Kim should not treat an employee in that manner and Sweetie is wrong too. I would state my piece and inform the two ladies that in my presence I would not stand for their mouthing and they need to excuse themselves when they feel a 'fit' coming on. This would make both women think about their behavior.
Now, for the rest of the reunion!
The rest was fluff. Sheree has man arms, too funny!!! Cynthia's wedding issues??? Nothing new. I want something NEW!! It was staged. I mean she should have been furious with her mom and sister?? Peter should not be on speaking terms with them?? I still think they ALL talked it out and staged it therefore trying to make sure Cynthia had an interesting story and would be back next year!!
Was Kandi there??? I jest, I jest. She sat there with her new hair do and barely made an impact on any conversation, to the point that I could of cared less if she showed up. Honestly, thank goodness for Phadrea, Kim and NeNe but notice you need NeNe in that equation because Kim alone no one cares?? The women don't mind Kim and Sweetie, right?? Oh, but wait, we got to laugh about pizza and laser fat reduction, right?? And, the stimulating conversation about BUTTS.
Yep, the best part of this reunion was the TENSION. You just kept waiting for the room to explode. Andy was miserable and you could tell he was over the fact that the ladies wouldn't come out to play. Wonder if they do in Part II?? Anyone watching Part II??
