Tabatha's Salon Takeover: A Star is Born
I enjoy Tabatha Coffey but her heart just didn't seem into this episode and I don't blame her. I get the impression that Tabatha likes to teach and help. A Star is Born did not offer her that opportunity.
Tabatha began the episode in Tabatha style. She calls the Salon and the owner who answers is barely able to talk. Clearly, the owner is hanging on by a thread. Nothing new! Tabatha only goes to Salons that have hit rock bottom.
Therefore, what was different about this episode?? The staff. I do believe that Tabatha considered skipping out on this Salon but she found an owner that seemed genuinely willing to change and that was enough for Tabatha to stay and try.
Now, the owner was frustrated with her staff but I felt she stepped up and took responsibility for her mistakes. On the other hand the staff was a joke. They refused to take any responsibility and they were unwilling to learn and try.
Tabatha worked with the owner and seemed to recharge her battery. She taught the owner how to install rules and be invested in her business. The staff??? Well, I never really saw any change? The owner claimed they changed but I was left dissatisfied. How about you??
Tabatha herself seemed less enthusiastic with this group of hairdressers than I ever seen.
This Salon would be considered a success and yet when Tabatha went back the hairdressers seemed liked they could care less and not one of them thanked Tabatha. The owner claimed Tabatha saved her and her Salon but it makes you wonder?? Her staff is clearly a bunch of whiny butts. No, not even whiny butts. They are your typical low level employees. They want to come to work, get paid and have no care about the place they work in. They believe it is all up to the owner. But that begs the question, if it is all up to the owner at what point does the owner need the worker bee?? Right? I mean this owner might make more money by being a single operator???
Anyway, this owner had stepped away from her business, she had not kept her end of the bargain and her staff kind of took advantage of the situation. They liked no rules. They liked coming and going as they pleased. They liked eating in front of clients. They are the type of staff that are willing to make enough to get by and if they don't they blame the owner. Tabatha was smart, she invested NO TIME with the staff. It was clear they were unwilling to give and to change for the betterment of the business. I bet if you asked Tabatha Coffey she would say that she hopes eventually the owner of A Star is Born wakes up and hires staff that is invested in the business and wants to help the Salon grow!!! You know, it might be nice to have stylists that understands kids love BRIGHT, BOLD, and SHINY!! I mean, didn't you just want to strangle the stupid blonde stylist when she said, 'I didn't really like the changes, all the bright colors, I just don't like it.' What a dumb blonde!! It is for the clients. You want your clients to walk in and love it and want to come back. You know so you MAKE MORE MONEY!!!
What do you think???
