Real Housewives of Beverly Hills!
How to Behave???
I am thinking that this episode aired at 9:00pm for a really good reason! Jersey Shore kicked it's ass. Now, the demographics are so different and you wouldn't even think they are in competition and yet Jersey Shore was trending for hours before it premiered and unfortunately Real Housewives of Beverly Hills barely made a blip. Bravo couldn't compete on the Reality Television level Thursday night. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills had no explosive moments and Bravo could not stir the pot all week so they were smart, air it early.
Okay, so the episode. I like these ladies and thank goodness they brought some drama early on because this episode was dull by most standards and yet I really enjoyed it. Why? Because, it is far enough into the season to enjoy an episode of just hanging with the ladies and watching them deal with the daily grind of life. Oh, and isn't that what viewers asked for? Weren't we sick of all the bullshit on New Jersey and by the end of the New York City season weren't we sick of all the drama?? It seemed viewers were asking for a balance and D.C. lacked the balance along with the fact that many Americans were really angry with the Salahi's and they stole the season of D.C. I think Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is bringing the balance back. Some drama but not over the top!
Anyways, I enjoyed watching a couple that are strong still disagree about something and you get the feeling it might get to a boiling point soon. Who am I talking about? Lisa and Ken! The problem? Cedric. Yep,Cedric is a problem. Even though we find out he has had a rough life at the birthday party I think we can all understand Ken's frustration of a grown man living with them for such a long period of time. In addition, I get the impression they have been helping him out for years now. Oh, and speaking of Lisa's daughter's,Pandora, birthday party, who wanted to smack her boyfriend, Jason??? I see hands raised!! I know Pandora tried to play it off as a joke and say it is something he does to get at her parents but I think it is starting to get to her too. I thought what Jason did at the birthday party was definitely BEHAVING BADLY!!
The tennis party. My,my,my. Oh, Camille kissing Nick on the lips and in front of his wife??? Behaving badly, for sure. I mean, does Camille think it is okay because the wife is present so it should not be seen as threatening??? Really! Camille did suck up a lot to Kyle and I couldn't really tell if it was sincere but let's give her kudos for trying and extending the olive branch. Kyle seemed reserved and I understood why but Kyle was at a tennis party trying to make amends and she tries to justify New York?? I have to say that is BEHAVING BADLY. Mauricio, Kyle's husband has already said he wants things to settle down and he wants to save the Grammer's as clients, I think Kyle should have just kept her mouth shut. I do think Kyle needs to learn that lesson. Time and place, Time and place.
Now, I go back and forth with the swimming and Camille in a bikini? If they all knew they were going to be swimming, which it seemed like they did because the husbands and children were suited then I don't fault Camille for suiting up. BUT, I think Camille needs to learn how to be a gracious host and make women feel comfortable, especially mothers and wives. There are bikinis and then THERE ARE bikinis. Camille could have chose something more modest and God Forbid she could have worn a one piece. I mean you are the hostess, it was a family event, do you always have to look sexy?? I guess you can just call me old fashion but what is wrong with some modesty at times and making other female friends feel comfortable?? So, I guess I lean more towards Camille BEHAVED BADLY!!
I think Paul pushing his wife in the pool, good move for television. Paul gets reality television a little bit better than Adrienne (LOL). I like Adrienne but she is worried about image and not so sure she fits the Real Housewives series (LOL).
Kim wasn't much of a factor in this episode. She seemed worried if Martin was going to show up at the White Party and I think in the end Kim was upset because Martin never called. I agree with Kim. In the situation in which they met it was up to Martin to make the next move, he didn't and Kim should move on. The exchange at the White Party between Kim and Martin was uncomfortable but it was great that Kim turned him down when he asked her to go grab a drink. I mean it sounded like he had been at the party for a while and he had not approached her, how rude. Martin has behaved badly!!
Now, Taylor. Oh, Taylor. What a sad soul. I just don't like this lady. The woe is me my husband sucks makes me wonder. I think they have been married seven or eight years?? I question her motives. Taylor said they always had a more business type relationship and now she is complaining about his lack of fun?? Do I think that a person should have a business type relationship? No. BUT, if a person marries with that setup it is hard to change the game part way through. In addition, I think all men are different. Some men dance and party. Others are more reserved. Russell seems to chat with the guys but he seems more straight laced, nothing wrong with that at all. Mauricio might know how to enjoy his downtime but some guys don't. Business is what they love. You have to know WHAT you marry and then KNOW if you can LIVE WITH IT. Women should be careful with thinking they can change a man. I don't think Taylor has to settle and she should find the man of her dreams but changing Russell or their agreement is unfair to Russell. I think Taylor thought she could live with the business type relationship and reap the benefits and now she is thinking, "hmm, maybe I could have had it all?" Taylor is looking at Kyle and Lisa and seeing happy, loving marriages and they have money and Taylor is wondering if she jumped into her marriage to quick. Like I said, I don't really like Taylor but I don't think she should be in an unhappy marriage. On the other hand, I also don't think that Russell needs to change who is to please her but they should talk as a couple and see if there is anything left because the way Russell acts I am not sure if he cares if Taylor walks out the door.
Now, we must mention Camille's appearance at the White Party!! The book?? I agree with Kyle was it done to get under Kyle's skin? Was it a true attempt at humor?? If it was an attempt at humor I think it was too early. The water under the bridge is still quite wavy and I think that Camille was not thrilled with Kyle's remarks at her tennis party so this was her passive aggressive dig at Kyle's party. I mean Camille could have done the book at a later date?? Or, not at all! It is like these two won't let it go and they continue to reference their fight at every meeting. You want to scream at both "LET IT GO!" So, Camille had her BEHAVING BADLY moment but it got her camera time with her very short appearance, so maybe a good move too.
Overall, a tame show by some standards but I enjoyed it. I enjoyed watching the women interact with their spouses, with their families and interact with each other. Lisa and Taylor chatting. Kyle and Taylor chatting and seeing them just hanging out together getting along and enjoying life. It is nice to see women behaving!!
