Twitter another fun Show!

posted by RF Club, Group AdministratorThursday, January 6th 2011 @ 8:20 PM (not yet rated)

Does it all depend on The Housewife?

Sometimes Twitter is just as much fun as the Real Housewives episodes.

The housewives show their humanity on Twitter better than all celebrities, although you hear more and more about celebrity tweets that go awry. I mean Courtney Love is in the middle of a lawsuit all because of tweeting??

What is funny is these celebrities and reality stars want a ton of followers and then the celebrity wants to also be 'normal' or like the regular Joe Schmoes on Twitter.  What do I mean by that statement?  They want to be able to Tweet whatever they feel.  Hey, I say, " more power to them."

I am a firm believer in Freedom of Speech and they should be able to 'have at it'  BUT they must be willing to 'pay the piper.'   See, the problem with a shitload of followers, is the fact that so many people are viewing the tweets so therefore the celebrity has a lot more people to offend.

Unfortunately, it seems people care more about celebrity tweets because they hold celebrities to a higher standards?? I have no idea why celebrities are held to higher standards??  They are PEOPLE.  They put their pants on one leg at a time like the rest of us.  They have the same problems we all do.

Although, I must admit, it does seem  regular Joe Schmoes are having serious trouble on Twitter too, the silly amount of so called 'Twitter Wars' happening , well, are  just that silly.  I, personally view Twitter like,  I view most of my life, if it is irritating me I don't keep it around.  As far as Twitter, it is just like the rest of the Internet and television, I get to choose what I view and if I don't like it I don't view it but I certainly do not tell others what to view or what to say.  I write a blog and therefore I believe in Freedom of Speech and you must take the good and the bad in order for the Freedom to survive. The best part of all of this is as an individual you get to choose to view it or not.

I am sure one can argue slander and libel and that has been the argument for years with tabloids and it is the current argument that Courtney Love is facing.  Typically, the courts ask for proof of malice and that is the hard fact to prove.  The malice and intent.

Anyways, back to Twitter. I have more fun watching it all unfold with the Housewives and one House Husband.  Now, I will be honest, I don't follow all the housewives, most are very boring.  They either promote or babble too much.  I have my favorites and I don't mean favorites as I LIKE THEM but favorites as they are just FUN to follow.  I enjoy watching what will pop out of their next TWEET.  My two absolute favorites are Simon VanKempen and Kim Zolciak.  They both LOVE Twitter. They both self promote, babble and rip fans.  They are just fun.  Simon thinks he is fooling a lot of people but if you take the time to read his tweets he is not fooling as many as he thinks.  He is self promoting, and when I say self promoting, he is promoting his wife.  Simon tweets way more than Alex McCord and he is Passive Aggressive with many of his tweets until you push him and then he will flat out tango with someone and then explain the tango.  Take a look at his time line sometime.  He does the dance often.

But, an interesting tweet happened yesterday and it came from Ramona Singer.  You won't find it on her timeline it has been deleted but RealityTea managed to snap a shot before it was deleted.  Ramona sent out a horrible tweet about Luann de Lesseps daughter.  I am not going to debate what Luann's daughter was doing but what I found interesting was the defense of the tweet.  I like Ramona but I foud the tweet appalling.  Is it Ramona's right??  Sure.  All I have to say is Fair warning to Ramona who has a 16 year old daughter.  No matter how well you raise your child and how perfect you think your child may be you just never know the choices they might make as they travel down the road of life and Ramona just put a big target on  her daughter's back.  In addition, as a mother would she want that tweet sent out about Avery???  I don't care how much you dislike a person to do that to Luann was cruel and worse to do it to a 16 year old??  Ramona Singer claimed it was a mistake?  Nah, no one makes that kind of mistake.
I am even more amazed at the the very little back lash Ramona has received??  I can't help but wonder why?  Ramona is fairly well liked and it is funny how people will tolerate more from those they like, in addition, Luann,  may not be hated, but she is not well loved and her high and mighty attitude gets her in trouble.  Therefore, the tweet against her child was just taking her a peg down.  But what if Ramona tweeted something about Kyle Richards' child?  Kyle is liked.  Or Lisa VanderPump's son??  Lisa is liked!  I think it is all in the who.  Fans are fickle.  It is amazing the tweets that don't bother them and then the tweets that send them over the edge.

I am a firm believer in Free Speech but I also believe in 'do unto others'.  Therefore, Ramona Singer has set herself up for a 'do unto other!'
I will continue to follow Ramona, she made a big boo boo IMO and did something I totally disagree with but people I love and know do that all the time and I don't attack or write them off in an instant.  I am by far not perfect nor do I expect perfection from celebrities or reality stars.

Like I said, I enjoy Twitter and it is another fun 'show' to watch when the housewives and house husband take to tweeting!!!
