Millioniare Matchmaker! Hello Kitty In A One Horse Town
I must say this episode broke my heart and warmed my heart. The millionaires this week were touching people in different ways. Patti was her usual insensitive self. You know, yesterday, (I am writing this the day after the show) the Bravo Chanel ran a very long marathon of Millionaire Matchmaker and as I watched several of the shows while busily cleaning my home and working I noticed things about Patti Stanger in all the episodes. Patti is rude but she likes to claim this makes her a barracuda business woman. I don't think that Patti understands the difference? You can be sharp and fierce without being rude. Oh, and Patti doesn't listen. Even with her staff which is probably why she has lost two staff members since she has started airing on Bravo. Now, don't get me wrong, employees come and go, that is part of owning a business but if you watch some old shows Patti lacks management skills,clearly.
Anyways, back to Hello Kitty In A One Horse Town!
Once again Patti starts off in her very negative mood about both Millionaires. Oh, and have you noticed Patti does not enjoy working with women?? Patti cannot handle other strong, independent women who won't tolerate her brow beating. So, we have our Hello Kitty fan, Robin and we have John, who is a fan of horses. Robin is overweight and Patti points that out immediately and John has problems with commitment. Now, I have seen a zillion Millionaire Matchmaker's and I think we can all agree that the Men clients have not all been gorgeous and certainly have not all been thin and Patti has remarked that they lack in stunning beauty but it never was the first thing she jumped on??? Although, I will give Patti some wiggle room because Robin was clearly into the physical in her DVD and I saw Patti's point AT THAT POINT. Therefore, early on I was not too upset with Patti Stanger.
Patti goes off to meet the Millionaires and the meetings are interesting. Patti basically screams and brow beats John until he admits he is afraid to commit. Do I agree with Patti? Yes, I think John had some commitment issues BUT I can't stand Patti's Methods. I sat there watching and truly wondering if Patti is in early menopause? I mean Patti has always been rough around the edges but she seems worse this year than ever. Maybe it is her breakup?? Maybe things with Chelesea, her last assistant? Something is not quite right with Patti.
Then Patti meets Robin. Robin was sad. Patti was mean. Oh and yes, I sat there and watched it. Patti seemed amazed that Robin was so focused on the physical. Raise your hand if you got it! Oh, yeah, I can see all of those hands up! Patti who claims to be so intuitive and that is what makes her a great matchmaker, well, I think Patti understood Robin but then wasn't willing to help her. Robin was behaving just like the men millionaire, right? She wanted the arm candy to make her look better and she figured she could buy the arm candy, right?? It breaks my heart every time. It doesn't matter if it is a male or a female.
Off to the mixer. Oh, honestly, I am over the picking the guys and gals. Patti allowing a CHICK and yes, I am calling the young lady with PURPLE bangs a CHICK, because anyone who has PURPLE BANGS is a CHICK and THE DUDE, with SPIKED hair, NIT pick other people well, is just pathetic. Those two have NO RIGHT to sit in judgment. I, personally, find the cattle call disturbing. I understand looks are what we first go on when dating, I get it, but I don't think being brutal and cruel to others is what is needed. Patti is looking for something special for certain clients and she doesn't need to demean others to service her clients. I mean Purple bangs and spiked hair ended up together, right???
Okay, back to the mixer. John did an awesome job. Oh, I would have been so pissed had he not picked DANA. I hope they marry.
Robin, oh, Robin. I agree with Patti about sipping wine with a straw. Women, don't do it. It looks awful and immature. What was sad was when Robin was interviewed she nearly cried because she couldn't believe all the attention she was receiving from the guys. My heart broke again. I definitely wanted to reach through the television and smack Robin when she chose Luke. It is a shame she thinks she can buy love. The policeman (or cop) as she called him was the guy she was connecting with but Robin has bigger issues and I am not talking about her weight.
I do think the mixers are hard. I have noticed a recurring theme. The millionaires do seem overwhelmed by all the attention.
The Dates!
John and Dana's date was fabulous. They clicked. And, even if Dana doesn't turn out to be the one, John finally had that feeling. The feeling of being swept off his feet and wanting to sweep a girl off her feet and he understood Patti's point. If feel 'it' then make the next move and then the final move. I hope it works out for those two!!
Robin's date was painful. I am assuming Patti knew Luke was a gold digger and he was a plant because Patti claims she doesn't allow gold diggers and she protects her millionaires. This guy wants to be setup in business and have toys bought for him??? He made it clear that he will 'put out' but he was thinking of things while she was touching him, how sad. Even more sad, her touching him and making a total fool of herself, just like the fool guy millionaires. I am assuming Robin knew. This woman can't be stupid, right? She runs a successful business, correct? I wanted to scream, "Go to an escort service, it is a sure thing honey." I am going to assume Robin pleasured Luke when he asked and that just disgusted me. This girl is desperate, very desperate!
Now, I read Rachel's blog (purple bangs) and she pretty much ripped the date and claimed there was a lot of drinking and called Luke a gold digger. Rachel blamed Robin for everything. I disagree and I am confused. VERY CONFUSED. Isn't Millionaire Matchmaker a business that Millionaires come to with a promise that Patti does some of the best screening and she does not allow GOLD DIGGERS?? I mean this guy was clearly a gold digger! Why didn't Patti protect her client and stop the date? Doesn't Patti claim she is top notch and better than match.com and eHarmony and Zoosk? I do believe Patti needs to be held accountable for bad dates too.
I have seen Patti let guys pick the wrong girl to teach them a lesson but to out and out allow a Gold Digger that could truly have taken Robin for a ride is wrong and to me going against what Patti claims she protects her clients from. If I was Robin I would not pay Patti a dime. What a disservice Robin received. I must admit I have never understood the 'bad date' scenario. Patti is technically a dating service and to out and out provide a bad service to me seems unethical. It is like deliberately giving a client a bad haircut?? And, then saying, here let me show you how I can do it so much better? Isn't a business suppose to provide awesome service every time or at least being trying to provide awesome service at all times??
Patti didn't like Robin and she didn't work with her in the same manner she does with her male millionaires. It is funny, do you think Patti had a problem with a woman being overweight? I think Patti has been more willing to work with some of the most disgusting guy millionaires. I am starting believe Patti has serious problems with working with women and now I don't think Shauna (botox queen) is all that nuts. Well, Shauna has her issues (LOL) but I remember her saying that Patti cannot work with women and I am starting to agree with her.
Oh, well, it was another interesting week of Millionaire Matchmaker. I watch to check out the Millionaires and see if they start to find love. Patti has become more irritating overtime. I think she lacks people skills. Unfortunately for Patti she has some good ideas but she has an awful way of communicating them. Patti lacks teaching skills and in a way, what she does, is teaching. I think Patti's business does fairly well but if you notice her business has not grown since she started on Bravo. Patti, still has only 3 people working for her. A business that grows needs to hire personnel. I am assuming Millionaire Matchmaker has lacked growth.
Oh, well, once again I sit and shake my head as to why Patti Stanger is so rough around the edges when she is in the love business? (LOL). One last insight about Patti. She loves to dish out advice but she doesn't seem to TAKE ADVICE or even LISTEN to anyone else. That is bad, very bad. You have to listen and be able to take advice in order to change and grow!
