Jersey Shore is gearing up for it's third season!! I watched the the Official trailer and as with all trailers it looks TRAIN WRECK good. You know, it is a bad thing but you can't help but look! It seems this season the big happy family turns into a NORMAL family. Dysfunctional as ever!! Fighting, loving and since they are not REALLY family some interesting HOOK UPS!!
But, in the trailer what becomes crystal clear to me is we won't be able to comfortably keep watching the TRAIN WRECK, right?? When does this group crossover to CREEPY?? You know what I mean, correct? These 'kids' are no longer 'kids'. See, we have always had this delusional belief that 'kids' go off to college and then when they graduate or the summer before they graduate they spend it at the beach partying. Okay, so let's continue to promote such a warped idea. At the same time we, as a society, continue to preach to our young to be careful about drinking and drugs, so kind of a mixed message but let's go with it. But, here is the problem with this group of 'kids' they are long past the 'spending the summer getting hammered age', CORRECT?? Are they not hitting the dangerously CREEPY guy and gal that the young ones look at and go, "GEE, LOOK AT THEM STILL TRYING TO BE SOMETHING THEY ARE NOT?" In addition, none of them are college 'kids'?? Which means they don't really fit the IMAGE, we, as a society promote. Well, wait, two have college and one of the two graduated! Now, Vinny graduated from State University of New York at New Paltz and has stated that if acting doesn't work out he may go into law. Okay, good backup plan but the longer you are away from studying the harder it is to get INTO a LAW SCHOOL!! You know the LSAT's and all that jazz but, at least it is a backup plan(that was written dripping with sarcasm). Sammi ATTENDED William Patterson University. My overall point, these cast members are not "college kids" partying for the summer. In addition, they are in their mid twenties with a couple rounding their thirties and to me that is a little CREEPY to be hanging out drinking all summer long and doing GOD KNOWS WHAT ELSE on THE SHORE.
Now, if you watch the TRAILER I think you start to notice that Mike, The Situation, is beginning to look OLD. Take a close look at his face! Yep, he is definitely looking old!! Vinny seems to be over the drama. Jenni seems to be Nicole's babysitter and Nicole SEEMS to not realize that TAPING a show does not get her out of illegal activities. DUH! I hope Nicole learned from the experience but in the trailer she looked pathetic, not funny, being cuffed and taken away in a squad car. Jenni was trying to control the situation which was clearly out of control.
Once again, things SEEM to be turning CREEPY and yet we,the public, seem to applaud their behavior. GO FIGURE!!! BUT, are we starting to watch it like a TRAIN WRECK?? And, eventually, we only stare for so long, right? We do move on at some point! Oh, well, I hope this season turns the tide and maybe, just maybe, WE, the viewers, will hit a point that says, "Oh, my they are tad bit old for all of this and it is time to move on." You know, kind of like we do with a normal television show when the High School kids are great in High School but not so much fun when we try to follow them in college, you know like 'Beverly Hills 90210'!
That show was so much fun when they were in high school and that it just fell apart when they ALL went to the same college (LOL).
I think Jersey Shore might be pushing it's limit and going into those "GROSS UNCOMFORTABLE YEARS". Here is wishing there is NO SEASON 4!!!
So do you think the cast members are getting close to the CREEPY age and not so much fun watching them hang out on the SHORE anymore? Or do you think they have a few years left in them?
