The Millionaire Matchmaker: Not Looking For Love!

posted by RF Club, Group AdministratorWednesday, November 17th 2010 @ 3:54 PM (not yet rated)

The Millionaire Matchmaker 'Dateapause'???  What an odd episode.  I am not sure why Patti made a big deal about having two women??  Possibly, because Patti has trouble dealing with women in general??

Anyways, as I watched this episode a little light bulb went off in my head??  It doesn't seem that Patti is 'airing' her real clients?    It isn't possible to have a business with zero success.  Now, do I believe that you go on one date and fall in love??  No, but these millionaires do not have follow up dates.  In addition, we do not see footage of Patti continuing to work with the millionaires.  Therefore, I am wondering if Millionaire Matchmaker is completely scripted and staged?  I know that Reality Television is not ALL REALITY but there is a difference between a television show, such as "Modern Family" and "Millionaire Matchmaker" or there is suppose to be and at this point I am questioning the difference.
Oh, well, I think Millionaire Matchmaker has crossed into Staged Reality, big time.

Why would Patti even bother with these two millionaires??  Sky, the jet setting DJ, who has dated celebrities and Stacy the mother of four with no real career?  Patti does her usual moaning and groaning about them being difficult and not sure what she is going to do and blah, blah, blah.  She then heads out with her driver and has her little 'meets and greets'.  It is clear she doesn't like either woman much but hey, they are clients and Patti has bills to pay.

Of course, Patti has her usual screening of potential dates for the clients and I must admit I enjoyed checking out the guys BUT is it me or is Patti nicer with the guys?  You know, Patti is one of those women who do better with guys.  You know the type.  The woman that is bitchy and snarky with women and then when a guy hits the room her personality changes TOTALLY and if you say something about her to the guys, they are like, "What she's always fine with me?"  That type of woman.  I call them A guys woman.  They only know how to relate and communicate with men and they see EVERY woman as competition and a threat.

Anyways, Patti has the mixer and Stacy is Stacy.  Wacky.  Completely all over the place.  Sky is no better.  Not sure why the chick even bothered.  Sky thinks she is soooo freaking hot and not one guy tickled her fancy so she tells Patti just to set her up on a blind date.  Patti says, "No problem, Kevin is perfect for you."  Of course, Patti didn't say it quite that nice but that is how the conversation ended.  Patti then jets off to Nut Job Stacy and asks her who she is going to pick out of the two guys she had mini dates with.  Honestly, I can't remember their names, something like, Luke and Chance???  Wacky or otherwise known as Stacy says, "Kevin, I want to go out with Kevin."  WHAT???  Wacky met the guy for two seconds before he left.  She didn't even have a mini date with him???  Yes, I know he had to leave but why didn't she tell Patti she would have LIKED to have had a mini date with him???

Patti seemed a little rattled, good acting Miss Stanger but I was thinking she should have said, "NO.  I set him up with Sky.  You never mentioned him and you had two mini dates and my rule is you pick from your mini dates."  But, instead Patti let's both women go out with Kevin.  I loved all the guys going "Kevin, who the hell is Kevin?"  Seeing how Kevin left the mixer like after being there for a whole FIVE minutes and then he got to go out with both women.  What a way to run a business.

Personally, in my opinion I thought both dates were flops.  Sky is so into herself and it was obvious she had no intention of dating any guy Patti setup for her.  I truly believe she wanted on a Reality show for exposure.

Which leads me to Stacy!  She let the cat out of the bag when Patti was brow beating her.  Yes, the woman is ALL OVER THE PLACE but when Patti was tearing her to pieces Stacy said, "I am happy being single"  OOPS!  I think even Patti was thrown by that statement.  Stacy wanted on the show for EXPOSURE too.

Hey, don't feel bad for Kevin the model slash Actor he got PLENTY OF EXPOSURE TOO!!!

I am thinking Millionaire Matchmaker might just be Bravo's own casting show!
