Project Runway: My Goodbye

posted by RF Club, Group AdministratorFriday, October 29th 2010 @ 9:28 AM (not yet rated)

Project Runway was upsetting to say the least.  I will be the first to admit I could not stand Gretchen Jones and that probably does sway me a tad bit BUT I do not believe Gretchen should have even been at the Fashion Show.  It baffled me how she escaped a few eliminations.  This led me to believe Nina Garcia had a crush on her and Michael Kors was lusting after her from day one and that was IT!!!  Both of them were clearly stunned when Mondo started producing and they did not know what t do.

My problem with Project Runway overall is that it has lost IT'S way.  The entire season was flat.  I am thinking this is because of Lifetime and Marie Claire???  I guess they need to tone it down since they left Bravo therefore the designers  have become boring and wearable.  I don't know about you but I certainly do not watch Project Runway to find the next Marie Claire spread or Michael Kors employee.  I don't wear Michael Kors.  I don't even consider him HIGH END.  I thought Project Runway was about finding NEW and innovative designers.  The season lacked such designers and Mondo was one of the FEW.

Putting aside Gretchen's personality, I will not deny that she can design but I did not feel her design was NEW,FRESH or INNOVATIVE.  I think she is Mountain chic and you can grab that at Target or KMart any day!  I will grab something there if I need a durable outfit for raking leaves and such.  My point, I just didn't think that Project Runway was searching for designers for such stores.  I am sure we will all grab a supplement top from those type of stores but when we watch a fashion show we want to see HIGH FASHION.  Just like when we read Vogue or Cosmopolitan we want to see clothes from top designers.  We want to dream and fantasize.  Gretchen Jones is far from High Fashion fantasy.

My suggestion to you is to skip Project Runway.  It has turned boring.  It lacks high fashion.  There are no more Santino's.  No more Christian Siriano's and so on!

The show itself is boring.  I have no idea why they have guest judges??  Nina and Michael do not care at all what they say and I truly believe they don't give a shit as to what Heidi thinks.

In addition, I think that Nina Garcia and Michael Kors are getting too old for Project Runway and they no longer can spot talent.

I am not threatening or huffing and puffing.  I didn't watch Project Runway last year.  I decided to give it a try this year and it was a waste of my time.  I realized early it was a waste but stuck it out.  Sometimes, I just watched online and not live but I guarantee you I will no longer watch the show.  It has lost it's panache!   No spunk!  The fashion is gone.  I am going to see how Bravo does with their new fashion show!! I am keeping my fingers crossed.  At this point I get more fashion from The Rachel Zoe Project.  I mean you get to see top designers on that show!!!!!

Below are tweets after the show. Oh, and I just grabbed a few.  There were so many nasty tweets I could have gone on and on with pasting tweets!!!   There were very few tweets in support of the win.  I mean seriously you would be hard pressed to find a positive tweet!

Anyways, I don't think I am the only one that is finished with Project Runway.   They will have to work hard to sell the show next year.  It isn't just about who won.  You can tell that others are complaining about the overall feel of the show on Lifetime.

Enjoy the Tweets below  and then tell me or tweet me your thoughts??? Oh, they are not my tweets by the way, they are Random tweeters!!

What does Micheal Kors and Nina Garcia have a contract with Kmart because thats where Gretchens clothes will end up #projectrunway

That sound you hear is millions of #projectrunway viewers cursing and changing the channel. Good luck with that new crappy show, dumbasses.

I am DONE with #ProjectRunway. Heidi, you have integrity. Can't even be mad at J. Simpson. But Michael & Nina, your taste is in your mouth.

That's it #projectrunway we are breaking up. It's not me it's you. You suck.

@ninagarcia and michael kors just proved they were too old to be relevant in fashion anymore #projectrunway

comment on a blog "Nina: While you put Gretchen in Marie Claire, Anna Wintour will have Mondo in Vogue." #projectrunway

#projectrunway I am so disappointed. I watched religiously, and the hippie chick won. And since when is hippie "the next big thing"?

@FashionNinaG @michaelkors i hope you guys realize you are ruining #projectrunway ...NO ONE liked gretchens clothes. you guys are HORRIBLE.

#projectrunway just bc ur on mundane #Lifetime doesn't mean you can commit suicide by picking mediocre talent

#ProjectRunway I honestly think the show lost viewers permanently, with the way judges treated contestants this season and the finale
