I confess I watched Millionaire Matchmaker to see the Manzo boys. Oh, don't give me flack for referring to Albie Manzo and Chris Manzo in that fashion. Why do I come at you in that manner?? Well, because I picked up the phrase "The Manzo boys and the other phrase "The Manzo Brothers" from the show. Poor guys were referred to like that on several occasions. I don't know? I mean, they are not twins and they are not CHILDREN and I can't totally explain it but it felt kind of odd hearing them talked about in such a manner?? I will admit Patti Stanger did say that both boys were very different and were at different points in their life and needed different things. It kills me to give Patti credit but I must give her some credit.
Patti identified that Albie Manzo was 24 years old and just might be ready to fall in love and settle down but Chris Manzo who is only 20 was a little young to have to be making that type of commitment and therefore Chris Manzo just needed some help on dating. Therefore, it was with Chris Manzo that they came up with the term "Millionaires in Training" program.
Of course, there was no mention of net worth with these gentlemen and you clearly got the feeling that Patti was doing this as a favor for a fellow BRAVOLEBRITY. Once again, and this is KILLING ME, I must give Patti Stanger a little credit. She made it clear that she did not know Caroline Manzo personally, like friends. Originally, I thought they were friends from New Jersey but that was made clear that the two ladies had no previous history. I know a lot of people were complaining about the Manzo boys being on the show but frankly, as a business owner, you do things for business relationships. Meaning, if Patti Stanger's Bravo bosses highly suggested the Manzo brothers be on her show then I don't blame Patti for bending her rules to enter her club. It happens all the time in business.
AND BASICALLY THE ENTIRE SHOW WAS A DEPARTURE FROM THE REGULAR MILLIONAIRE MATCHMAKER SHOW!!!
There was no yelling. Patti and her goons did not rip the Manzo boys apart. Patti did not discuss their pickers. Actually, it was enjoyable. Patti treated the Manzo boys like human beings. Too bad she doesn't do this with her other clients. Of course, this meant Patti felt she needed to 'beat up' on somebody and that meant the potential dates. I won't bother to give you details. You know the drill with Miss Stanger. She rips them for their clothes, weight, hair and makeup. Has Patti Stanger looked in the mirror lately??? Honestly, Patti is almost 50 years old with no soul mate and I found it appalling the way she talked to some of the women. I think Patti needs take her own advice. Her and Dustin were munching bagels during the show. Patti should NOT BE EATING A BAGEL, if you get my drift.
Of course they use the Brownstone to 'interview' the potential dates. I swear the Manzo's will do anything to show the Brownstone. Caroline watched every second and had to guide Albie. Oh, wait back up a second. Caroline was at the initial meeting with The Manzo Boys and Patti. Yes, if you saw the commercials it was Mama Caroline who described the type of girls each of her boys like for Patti. It was disturbing, very disturbing. Not funny. I am sure The Manzo's do not read my little blog but if they did I would say, "Boys, please cut the cord and Caroline watch the show and try to see it how others do. Very scary and disturbing."
We make it through the disturbing part and the Albie and Chris pick their young ladies. I must say they both picked 'good' girls. Although, Patti didn't throw in any SPICE like she usually does with her other clients. I mean this was a TAME ASS SHOW and then Mama has trained the boys well!!!
Now, if you didn't watch you can guess what happened. Albie Manzo the brother that is described as Prince Charming had the perfect date and Chris Manzo the brother described as the Joker had the disastrous date. I questioned the entire setup?? I wondered if it was a bit staged?? Imagine me wondering that?? (sarcasm)
Chris Manzo's date was really odd. He took her to some medieval thing and they had to put on costumes, eat with their hands and watch jousting. A very hard first date scenario. A girl does not want to eat with their hands on the first date??? It got even odder. The young lady hinted she wanted the night to last and Chris shot her down saying, "He had to work early in the morning." Then, she tried to get a second date and Chris seemed oblivious?? I just find it hard to believe that Chris Manzo is that stupid? Either he really did not like the girl and he chose to hurt her on camera which is cruel or it was staged?? I have seen Chris tweet and his a witty guy. Therefore, I just couldn't fall for him not getting her clues. I really believe they sacrificed Chris Manzo has the 'crappy' date client.
Of course, Prince Charming, Albie Manzo did everything right. It was a lovely romantic evening with dinner on a boat and a lot of getting to know each other. The night ending with them wanting a second date.
Patti told Albie "good job and he just needed help letting his guard back down since he has to deal with all the new fame." She then said he needed to help his brother out with dating tips. I mean Patti was so gentle with Chris Manzo that I flippin forget what she said and I am not going to watch again to find out.
Overall, I guess you could say I enjoyed the show. Less yelling and no Picker talk!!! It was nice to see Patti Stanger treat people with SOME dignity. She definitely changes with clients she has a personal connection. Unfortunately the Millionaire Matchmaker is becoming more and more staged and you can see right through it.
How did you feel about this episode? Do you think Millionaire Matchmaker is running out of steam??
