The Real Housewives of Atlanta opened up with Miss NeNe Leakes or I should say Mrs. NeNe Leakes at the plastic surgeon's office. I would like to get on the record that I enjoy NeNe for the most part. I think she tends to tell it like it is at least from her perspective. Meaning, I think she tells us what she REALLY THINKS and FEELS.
Of course, ALL THE HOUSEWIVES PERFORM ON CAMERA TO AN EXTENT. Who wouldn't?? I have to honestly say if I had a camera crew following me around I would be conscientious of what I did and said.
Okay, back to the Petty Boughetto episode. Bravo's title for Monday, October 25th episode!
Where were we? The beginning. NeNe is at Dr. Whiteman's office discussing why she is about to have plastic surgery done with her best friend Diana. According to NeNe, life is hard at home with Brice and Gregg and she needs to get her HAPPY back and the surgery is a step in that direction. Personally, a trip to the mall works for me, I grab a new sweater or maybe some makeup and I am good to go!! I don't need to spend THOUSANDS of dollars to get my HAPPY back but I guess it is all relative. Sometimes I spend TEN bucks and sometimes I spend a few Hundred dollars but never Thousands! We also get a few of the Housewives thoughts. Sheree comments that "if she had plastic surgery every time she had marital problems she would look like Dwight". Must admit Miss Sheree Whitfield is being very funny this season!! Kim, no surprise, is supportive of NeNe's surgery throughout the entire episode and basically says, "if it makes her feel better and she wants it than more power to her". Kandi just mentions how the two women handle stress differently. Kandi handles it by "working too much" and NeNe handles stress by "running to the plastic surgeon". Diana, the best friend isn't into the nose job! Who is missing from the equation Gregg?? From the interviews we get the impression that Gregg is against the surgeries and he is a no show. It was sad watching NeNe call out for her husband. Relationships are a funny thing. Most people were saying that Gregg should have been there? NeNe chose to have ELECTIVE surgery and her words were "IT IS MY OWN DAMN MONEY". When Gregg was making the money it seemed that NeNe had no problem spending the money and it was THEIR money. Now, NeNe is making money and she called it HER money. Oh, boy, that does cause problems in a marriage. In addition, if they are having some money issues and she is spending THOUSANDS on ELECTIVE surgery to get her HAPPY back that adds to the situation. Relationships are tricky,Add money problems and step children issues and THEY are even harder. All I am saying is before I totally judge Gregg I am going to remember I am only getting ONE PERSPECTIVE. Now, that being said, once again I will say I felt bad for NeNe when she kept calling out for Gregg.
Oh, and many tweeters kept saying, "Why is the friend 'drunk dialing' for NeNe?" I think she was 'drunk dialing' for Bravo!!!
Oh, my gosh Kim Zolciak and her parents. Now, that was a comedic scene if there ever was one!!!! Kim's Dad does not understand that he is suppose to ACT like there are no camera crew people and he kept talking to the producers and crew. TOO FUNNY!! Kim tried to keep distracting him from the crew! It was funny! Now, her mom was able to focus better and I loved the "FAME OVER FAMILY" that was great. Even better was to find out that her parents live in town and that Kim drops the kids off and says, "Have fun with kids, see you later." Of course, parents are parents. Kim got a little preaching and then in the end Daddy told us how proud he is of his little girl. Kim must be like Mommy. Mommy wants Arianna baptized and have her first communion and she doesn't really care how it happens and therefore if Kim needs to use Big Poppa then so be it. In this scene we find out that her parents ADORE Big Poppa and they just can't stand that he is LEGALLY MARRIED. WHAT??? Please someone explain to me what the hell Kim means?? No, I know what she is trying to say but she sounds ridiculous. Anyways, Kim goes onto say that her Dad just wants Big Poppa to do the right thing and take care of his divorce. WOW!!!!
Now, talking WOW!! Sheree and the LOVE DOCTOR!! We find out more about Sheree's man while she is working out with her trainer. That trainer KNOWS SHEREE. His facial expressions when Sheree says, "it isn't about money says it all and then the cut away to NeNe saying, "Sheree is full of shit" just awesome. Therefore, we get the setup. Sheree isn't overly sure about the LOVE DOCTOR and she is off to see what the GUY is all about. The LOVE DOCTOR'S seminar cracked me up. That guy is your typical smooth talker selling shit. All he did was tell women to let the man be the man!! Oh, now that is deep (sarcasm). Sheree claimed she was turned on by his 'handling' of the crowd. OKAY. I am thinking Sheree was counting all the DOLLARS he collected from the seminar (LOL).
Steeple Chase what?? Obviously every big city in the south tries to emulate a Kentucky Derby event, whatever? Heck, didn't Orange County have some kind of Horse thingy?? Oh, well, this Steeple Chase thing was NOTHING compared to the limousine ride over to the event. Cynthia Bailey probably had to twist her boyfriend's arm, Peter Thomas, to go and then low and behold out walks two flipping clowns to join them in the car. I thought Peter was going to die when Phaedra Parks and Dwight got in the car with those damn Pink hats. Of course,Cynthia and Peter asked where Phaedra's husband was and Phaedra claimed it wasn't his 'thing'. Who cares, your husband should be at your side, not your gay friend. After that insult Phaedra Parks insults them for living together and then moves on to the biggest insult of trashing Peter for having five children. I must admit even Dwight got uncomfortably quiet and I think he wanted to shut her up. All this from our LITTLE SOUTHERN BELLE!! Cynthia Bailey was holding Peter's hand tight because as she said, "he wanted to strangle Phaedra" Now, that would have been a great scene! Of course, we had to hear that Phaedra is quite the equestrian and the cut away to NeNe Leakes was the best!!! "Picturing Phaedra on a horse (pause) drawn okay .... it wasn't a good look!"
Of course, Phaedra had to dish on poor Cynthia in her interview about being a model. The Southern Belle has no manners. Phaedra could not say that Cynthia is beautiful, even with Dwight she cracked that Cynthia refers to herself as a model. Miss Phaedra is a jealous person!! Hence the reason she is her own cheerleader. Loved that analogy by Cynthia. "Rah, Rah, put the poms, poms down" That was perfect!!!
Kim and Kandi, Oh, Kim and Kandi. These two need to work it out!! Kandi needs to bring her lawyers in and have a business meeting. End of that discussion and move on!! Oh, wait and MAKE KIM SING!!! Of course, I loved NeNe Leakes saying it like it is again! Kim not getting the joke. It was not a kind joke!! "The ring didn't mean a thing" To POPPA!!! Hello!!!
In this scene Kandi tries get Kim to admit to two things. That Kim needs to sing (and won't)and admit that it is about the money!!! HELLO!!!
Kim wants Kandi to do all the work back to my opening line of this paragraph, Kandi needs to make it a business deal, period!
The scene was a little uncomfortable. Tension is building. Money is money. Kandi will not get burned twice!! Kim truly doesn't believe she burned Kandi! See where this is heading???
The short scene of learning the waltz. YUCK and once again APOLLO should have been there and Phaedra sounds ridiculous excusing him away and explaining the prescence of a gay friend. SILLY!! Oh, and YUCK!!!
But, we all know the worst is yet to come!!!!
Phaedra Park's baby shower, holy moly. Andy Cohen had tweeted that it was "off the hook" that was an understatement. I tweeted it was "off the rails". Where to start???
Dwight wearing the crown getting ready? Male escorts?? I loved Cynthia saying "Where are we? Chippendale's?" That is not a compliment. Not to a a Southern Belle! Of course, NeNe Leakes saying it like it is, "She is not all holier than thou. Phaedra is an attorney in Atlanta that married an ex-con. That is how I see it and pluck my eyes out if you don't like it." Oh, NeNe!
Phaedra stayed hidden while the guest arrived??? Why?? It is a baby shower. Phaedra was making it like a wedding by behaving like a bride. Of course people wanted to see her, she was the pregnant chick?? I didn't understand the "we need more tables" and the answer was, "no turn them away" WHAT??? Were they guest? I mean who just shows up to a baby shower?? I would have assumed they were invited. Phaedra Parks was insinuating that she is soooo damn important that people were crashing her baby shower just like they crashed her wedding?? Who does she hang with that they would crash such events?? I mean she claims she is the ULTIMATE SOUTHERN BELLE, right??? I would assume she would not associate with crashers (sarcasm). Kandi was a hilarious in her interview with "my pinky does not go up, Phaedra's makeup was bughetto and are we at a wedding" Oh, but leave it to KIM to come late and upstage Phaedra. The roses in Phaedra's hair looked like shit and Cynthia nailed that and she blamed it on Dwight. The ballerinas and waltz was hilarious. Kandi, "What the hell?" Kim, "I thought we were at the Nutcracker". Cynthia wanted stabbed. Kim's solution keep drinking. I must admit Phaedra got a good crack in about Kim. One thing I do believe in is if you are invited to something with a dress code and YOU CHOOSE TO GO then you respect the person even if you think it is silly. Don't go if you think it is that silly. I mean you don't have to go but don't just ignore the person's party requirements. Kim has an assistant and Kim knew about the hat she just CHOSE not to wear one, which is wrong. I found it funny when Phaedra said, "A wig does not count as a hat" Overall, Kandi summed it up the best! "I have never seen such a baby shower and I won't ever see another one like it again!" Here, Here!!!
What were your favorite lines of the night? I must admit NeNe Leakes and her one liners cracked me up but Sheree and Kandi had a few good ones too!! The Atlanta ladies are getting witty!! Oh, and what do you think of Miss Cynthia Bailey??
