Well, I must say I enjoyed the Kick off of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
I was trying to figure it out. What was it that I liked about these ladies? I'm thinking it was the fact that they seem both genuinely filthy rich and GENUINE. That is hard to achieve.
I could believe that Adrienne Maloof could afford to throw that shindig for all the ladies. What shindig? The Basketball game trip!! Yes, I know she is the owner of the team but I mean all the Frills too?? The plane and the restaurant!! Adrienne could of just taken them to the game. Now, who knows if Bravo pitched in for some of it?? The Jet got free advertisement when the camera zoomed in therefore, I wonder, but my point is Adrienne clearly could afford that entire trip.
I like this mix of ladies. You have long time married women. You have the single mom. You have the lady fighting for her marriage and then you have Camille Grammer, the trash.
Kelsey Grammer married a stripper, now defined as dancer (LOL). Honestly, I am not sure how the guy stay married to Camille for 13 years. Obviously, he was messed up a few of those years and I am thinking I know why (LOL). Joking, just joking. But, jeez Camille Grammer is annoying.
On to the two sisters. Thank goodness these sisters are not going to be boring like the Jersey sisters. Nope. They are REAL sisters. Love/hate relationship and c'mon most sisters have those type of relationships (not all but a lot). I love my sister dearly and by God I won't let another person say shit about her but there are days my best friend must quietly listen to me bitch about her. (LOL) I think these sisters are going to be quite interesting. One minute UP and one minute DOWN. One thing for sure they both are starstruck.
Kim Richards was kinda of sad calling herself and icon and claiming the paparazzi noticed her over Paris Hilton. Really?? "Escape from Witch Mountain" plays on TCM on Sundays and the Disney channel, I am NOT thinking the paparazzi is asking Paris to move out of the way for a shot of KIM, you know the lady who went on to do guest shots on CHIPS! Too funny!! Then, you have Kyle claiming she left the business on her own accord whenever she got pissed and would have a kid??? WTF??? It is interesting that BOTH women CLAIM their children are their lives. This is yet to be seen so the jury is out. Although, Kim wanting a house big enough for grown children not living with her is interesting??? Yeah, Kim is either the ultimate mom or in denial or a little of both. Worse, I think both Kim and Kyle might use MOTHERING as JOB and the problem with that is kids grow up and leave and at some point you do become too old to have kids. I'm not sure either one of these women realize they are hitting the too old age here real soon (LOL).
I think I am going to like Adrienne Maloof but it is early. She claims they work for their money, yet to be seen but if true then great. I did enjoy her scenes with her family and her husband. Now, they seem like quite a couple. I like strong couples. He can hold his own but he respects that she holds her own too. I love that in a relationship.
Lisa VanderPump the older woman of the bunch. It seems that her and her husband have a nice settled relationship. It is nice to see a man that loves his longtime wife. They were both funny about their dogs and he was hilarious about the gay gentleman living with them. I must say I can't wait to see how that plays out. I liked that Lisa admitted she has a great life and loves it.
Taylor Armstrong just made me feel sad for her. I'm not sure I would want to live with a man wondering how soon he would be dumping me for the next young thing?? Honestly, that is all I picked up from Taylor in this episode.
Some overall observations.
How funny was the plane ride? I thought Lisa was going to lose all her patience with Kyle. Lisa was totally over Kyle's dramatics but she does seem to know that Kyle obsesses over everything, good thing Lisa knows her.
Kyle was a little stunned with Camille's revelation of using a surrogate and Taylor thought, "Hey, maybe not a bad idea because I can't afford to lose my guy and I need my figure." Sad. I feel for women that are that superficial and yet they have no clue. I mean Camille doesn't get it. Four nannies that rotate?? Asking your nanny how your child is??? CHECK YOURSELF!! I mean Camille doesn't work. I would be more sympathetic if Camille was a working mother and needed assistance but what the hell does she do all day???
Oh and Taylor and Kim at the basketball game didn't go well at all. Kim wasn't all that receptive to Taylor but Taylor is definitely snotty and she didn't really extend a branch. I am shy and I kind of felt bad for Kim. It is hard when you are an introvert and shy and people can misconstrue those signals which I think Taylor did and then Taylor started turning her back on Kim. That is rude. It was just BAD all the way around!
Now can you believe Kyle rooting for the Lakers?? She was a guest of the owner of the Sacramento Kings?? Not, just a guest. Nope, she actually sat next to the owner at the game and rooting for the opposing team. That is wrong, soooo wrong. Completely low class. I agree with the Countess, money can't buy you class. Kyle may have more money than me but I know my manners and I would never have rooted for the opposing team or danced like a stripper with the Mascot. Camille Grammer obviously doesn't know the difference between dancing and stripper dancing, man, I just kept waiting for her to disrobe, didn't you?
Really, money can't buy you class!
I do believe a few of these women will make this point crystal clear this season!!!
