 | The Rachel Zoe Project: Fashion and Dramaposted by RF Club, Group AdministratorMonday, September 27th 2010 @ 5:11 PM (not yet rated) |
I enjoy The Rachel Zoe Project for all it's fashion! I love the that we get to peek into all the fashion shows, shoots and styling sessions. Watching them comb through dresses, shoes and accessories is like flipping through a magazine only we get the details. Rachel and Brad point out all the fine details. Of course, it is also fun to get a glimpse of a star from time to time. The last episode was Anne Hathaway. Doesn't Miss Hathaway seem like so much fun. Like someone you would just love to have over for coffee or drinks??
Of course, to be a Reality show there must be some drama. This year The Rachel Zoe Project focused on Rachel's inability to balance career and family. It even went a step further and delved deep into the issue of pregnancy. I read several blogs and some mentioned that it would not be mentioned if Rachel was a man. Obviously, meaning that no one questions a man's drive to build his business or career over his family. I am not sure I totally agree with that statement. Over time it has been remarked that many men have sacrificed their family for their careers and these men have been questioned if it was all worth it? Gone are the days that it is okay for a man to ignore his family and work while the "little woman" stays at home. First, many women don't stay at home and do it all and therefore they insist on help and second now a days it seems that parents are expected to be at everything their child does.
Anyways, back to Rachel. Rachel and Rodger seem to have both at one time agreed to having children. I got the impression that Rachel has allowed her business to consume her more and more and her dream has shifted. There is nothing wrong with that except if your spouse does not shift with you then you need to be up front and consider the possibility of losing your spouse. I have always been a firm believer that a woman does not have to a child to be complete and I still feel that way. On the other hand, Rachel needs to be honest with her husband and if Rodger can't live with his wife's decision then he should move on.
In addition, Rachel seems to be unable to separate herself from work and at some point she will find that her work is not going to be there for her when the lights go out, so to speak. You know the saying, "When you are dying you very rarely say, I wish had spent more time at the office." Meaning, Rachel needs to find a balance between her work and her loved ones or before she knows it she will only have her work and that will be a very lonely life. Work does not keep you warm at night. Yes, it is great to enjoy what you do and it is important to have something to get up and do everyday but if Rachel isn't careful she may find out that it isn't so wonderful without all the people she loves in her life.
Okay, enough about the workaholic Rachel, let's talk about the Mustard gown??? Did you like that gown?? I was not over the moon with that gown. Oh, but I loved that shoot on the beach, oh, my gosh, that was an awesome shoot. And, I loved it when Brad said, "Am, I turning into Taylor?" No, he was just tired and crabby that day. C'mon we all have those days at work, even at a job we love, with a boss we love. You know, not every day can be a picnic.
Lastly, I am glad that The Rachel Zoe Project is a short season. It is the perfect amount of time. We get to see some great fashion with enough sprinkle of Rachel Zoe drama to last us until next time.....
So, do you think the next time will be Rachel Zoe pregnant? (sarcasm, total sarcasm)
