I must thank my Twitter Buddies!! You suggested I watch Real Housewives of D.C. and I am glad I did. Unfortunately, I did have to buy it off iTunes!! Bravo is good at keeping their shows off of sites, especially brand spanking new shows. You can find old episodes of Bravo shows but not new ones. Oh, sorry for those of you confused. I have moved to a small town where the cable provider does not currently offer Bravo. They hope to do so in the future but they were honest, Bravo is very expensive and there is no demand for it at this point. Double worse, I chose a community that does not allow dishes. They are very particular about what you have on the outside of your home. Therefore, I have been buying all the Bravo shows off of iTunes!
Now, back to Real Housewives of D.C.!! The Stomping of The Grapes Episode!! It was a pretty good episode. These ladies bring a different kind of tension to the screen. I have been trying to put my finger on it. I think part of their draw, so to speak is their good old fashion gossiping. Of course, then they like to defend it. No one really likes to admit to gossiping!
Onto the Stomping of The Grapes Episode!
Stacie Scott Turner rubs me the wrong way! I know this goes against grain. Oh well! Stacie at this point is a little boring. I mean honestly if Stacie wasn't on the show you would hardly notice her missing. I think her finding her birth mother was about as interesting as she gets. In addition, I think Stacie has a chip on her shoulder or dare I say it she is racist. Stacie tends turn everything into a black and white statement. I think it is killing her that her birth mother is white. I found it appalling that her friend said the birth mother was selfish? The birth mother could have made a very different choice many years ago and Stacie Scott Turner would not have had a life. I am not sure I would call her selfish. Just because Stacie isn't getting her way does that make the other person selfish? Has anyone considered that Stacie is being selfish? She wants to turn other people's lives upside down for what? Stacie was raised by wonderful people and she has no medical emergency. In other words it is her simple curiosity for wanting to know her father, a man that has no clue about her. Has it ever occurred to people that the birth mother has wishes, wants and rights too??? Did you notice how Stacie said, "My birth mother has a white husband and white son and I am her secret." I have a question, Did it ever cross her mind that a black mother with a black a husband and black son might not want her life turned upside down either? Stacie seems to immediately jump to racism all the time.
The conversation in the limo ride about the black caucus made no sense. Her husband saying that Stacie trying to sneak in the Daughters of America would be next to impossible and then Stacie said, "we" and I put that in quotations because she was using the "we" as a statement about Blacks would not even attempt to go were we don't belong "we" no better. I was thinking, how about just saying, " sneaking in to an event of that magnitude is wrong". It just seems to me that Stacie Scott Turner always has to go an extra step and that extra step is race. I mean I didn't feel it was even worse because of President Obama. Once again, we get it. Stacie thinks he walks on water but is it because she believes in his policies or because he is black??? Alright, let's move off of racial issues with Ms. Turner.
Obviously, in the beginning of the show the Turner's did not know the Salahi's all that well. I got the impression the Turner's were a little impressed by the Salahi's. I think the Salahi's snowed them. Stacie falls for all that glitter, schmoozing and bullshit. Now, Stacie wasn't thrilled with the 'sneak in' story but it was just a story at the moment. She was clearly nosey about the winery and obviously her husband was too since he came along. But, you know what drives me nuts about women, is when they get pissed about something and they say this, "I'm too old for this shit and I have young kids to think of at home." As opposed to everyone else in the car??? Oh, and by the way what triggered that statement was the phone call from Tareq about security at the winery. Here is a thought, Stacie, just say, "I want to know what the hell is going on and I am going to find out." Period. Who gives a shit how old you are and if you have young kids at home????
Off to the winery they go and then Stacie is all over defending Michaele about Lynda and her statement "eat a burger". Michaele, "Let it go" but that is for Michaele's section. Most of all you could clearly see that Stacie was on the Salahi's side from the get go. I mean she believed their lame excuse about the ticket and Black Caucasus event and even though Mary clearly did not bash Micheale, Stacie just sat there. I really do believe the Salahi's had the Turner's under their spell!!
Mary Schmidt Amons she does not like Michaele Salahi! Oh, boy does this come out in this episode or what?? I noticed a lot of people gave poor Mary shit about the salon jealousy. Well, I get it. Once again, going against the grain! I totally understood Mary's frustration. See, I don't think this is an isolated incident with Mary and Michaele. You are forgetting they run in the same circles. Mary and Michaele are interacting with the same people over and over again. This is not just one incident. Mary is over Michaele's act. She is over the fact that Michaele doesn't do shit, that she really doesn't contribute anything but the wine and that is for promotional purposes and then Michaele swoops in with her kissy, kissy and makes a big show. I get it. Sometimes you have a breaking point. Especially when you feel like you have done a lot for a friend and you feel like that person is ignoring you for someone who hasn't done crap and is swooping in for "the moment". I felt Mary's frustration! Now, I am not sure if I give credit for Mary speaking up or if I think she should have just went home and whined to her husband???? I honestly, doubt I would have said a word to my friend. If I know my friend is my friend and Michaele is the way she is then I would trust my friend to figure her out. I probably would have went home and bitched to my husband about the incident. Although, on the other hand if we are super duper close friends I might have done what Mary did but I would not have been so politically correct. I would have been like, "Oh, my gosh, Michaele drives me nuts with all her bullshit and then you were sucking up to her and not me, how dare you." And then we would have had a good laugh!!!
Okay, onto Mary and her daughter. I think Mary has no problem with her daughter living at home, she just wants that darn dog gone (LOL).
Back to Mary and the Salahi's!!! Mary seemed totally disgusted when Jason, Catherine Ommanney's friend, was telling the story of the 'sneak in' at the Black Caucus. Cat clearly thought the entire thing was outrageous and Mary just sat there with a look of true disgust!
Off to the winery! Mary seems to be in the middle. She knows it is all show but she desperately wants Cat just to play along. Mary seems to be that type of person. She is by no means stupid. The Turner's were clearly impressed by the Salahi's. Mary and Cat knew what was going on. Mary chooses to make the most of the moment and be polite, mannerly and enjoy the moment. Michaele was the one being rude to a guest. If you know your guest is friendly or actually very friendly with someone you don't go bashing them and make your guest uncomfortable. Michaele was putting Lynda down for talking behind Michaele's back and then Micheale was doing the same thing and it was putting Mary in an awkward position. Mary was defending her friend. Period. No, not period, she was defending her friend without being rude to her hostess. Obviously, there is more to come with Mary and Michaele!!
Catherine Ommanney better known as Cat! Man oh man, she is the pistol! Cat clearly can't stand the Salahi's and to be more direct she can't stand Tareq!! As stated above she was appalled when her friend told the story about the 'sneak in' and I think this just set the tone for Cat. In the limo ride she found it interesting that no one knew much about the winery and then when the call came in about security she was clearly over it. Cat is a no nonsense gal and she wanted answers. She stated that she thought it was odd that they all just acted like nothing was going on. That is not Cat. In addition, she finds Tareq to be rude and bossy. Cat doesn't find him charming and fun. Now, should Cat have been so rude back?? Probably not. Cat needs to learn some manners too. I found it funny that she was suggesting Tareq use manners. Cat is a little bit like a 10 year old. When she isn't getting her way she just leaves but until she could leave she made everyone else miserable, like a 10 year old. Cat, honey, learn some manners. Mary wasn't having much fun either but she did her best. Mary possessed self control and manners. I was surprised that Cat didn't shout right there that she knew the Salahi's had purchased the grapes for the stomping! I was so ready for her to embarrass Tareq! It was a good thing she left but I loved her saying over and over again that it was bollocks, just bollocks, the whole thing was bollocks!!!!
Lynda Erkiletian was the smart one and she opted out of the winery debacle!! We did get to see the softer side of Lynda. We enjoyed a family breakfast. Her one son is quite the character even wear cute little feet pajamas but he was cracking me up with his jokes all through breakfast. He really 'hammed' it up for the cameras!! I enjoyed Lynda's quick little dinner scene that broke into the winery debacle. It was cute, the banter between her and Ebong. He clearly knows her and plays along. I loved the joking about him focusing solely on her when his with her and how she let us know that doesn't always happen. Yeah, we know how it works and he made it clear that guys know how US women want it but they don't always care (LOL). Lynda still made it clear how she felt about Michaele. Lynda seems to like her but she has made statements that elude to liking Micheale before she married and the 'old' Michaele. So, between Michaele digging at Mary and Lynda and her off the cuff interview remarks we definitely know there is history with these two ladies!
Michaele Salahi disgusts me. I will not talk about her and her husband, Tareq. I do not find them gutsy, entertaining or charming. I think they have thrown the law in our faces. I believe in our government and our laws. Therefore, I know that sometimes people get away with shit but it frustrates me to no end at times. I feel for people who have been arrested due to the Patriot Act and have spent time illegally in jail because of that trumped up act. But worse, for these two to somehow get past our U.S. security and not spend one damn day in jail, ugh. (Oh, and US regular Americans can't even bring a freaking bottle of shampoo on a plane)
Oh, well, now, the Salahi's are profiting from all their 'sneaking in'. Michaele is selling the dress she wore the night she crashed the Whitehouse party. I find this appalling!
I will only write about these two in the context of the other women for now on. This is a personal choice.
