Project Runway! Party Pooper!
Okay, Okay, let's get right to the heart of this episode! The party pooper of of this Party episode, let us all shout her name at once GRETCHEN JONES!!! OHMYGOSH!! I wanted to strangle the 28 year old know it all, I think my shit doesn't stink, and lookout I have this competition wrapped up because I won the first two challenges BITCH!! God, I don't know how any of those other designers didn't go batshit crazy on that stuck bitch. But, I can tell you I NOW know I want her to go DOWN!!!. Listen, I wasn't an overall fan of either of her wins. I thought Gretchen Jones two wins were SAFE!! I honestly was very concerned with Project Runway when they chose her twice and quite frankly having her in the top three again made me want to puke! The designers chatting said it all. They said the her two wins were safe and they were hoping that Andy South would win because they felt his design showed innovation. YEAH, hooray, ANDY SOUTH pulled through and won!!
I honestly don't know how ANDY won?? Nina Garcia said, "Gretchen's outfit had it all and it was styled perfectly for Marie Claire." Oh No!!, has Project Runway been hijacked by Marie Claire and Lifetime??? All we can hope for is that Michael Kors holds out for innovation. Although, is he getting older and seems to be losing his need for runway magic and now he searches for wearable and selling items only?? When did Project Runway turn? Christian Siriano and Santino Rice would never make it now, just to name a couple! I mean Valarie's dress was cute, but it was CUTE, that is not PROJECT RUNWAY!! What has happened to PROJECT RUNWAY??? Are any of you sad too? I am sad!
So, here are the designers that I thought were overlooked. I feel they were innovative! Michael Costello's dress, wow, that RED dress was gorgeous. April Johnston, how cool was her dress. It was different and it spoke about her as a designer! Kristin Haskins Simms, loved the explosion of color and it looked good! But, it really does seem like Project Runway is not looking for OUTSIDE THE BOX anymore! Three weeks in a row BLACK has won!! BUT, at least Andy's was DIFFERENT.
Okay, let's move on to the bottom three. Please, they obviously can't stand Casanova just do it, send his ass home. It is clear they think he has no taste. I mean what did Michael Kors say about his dress, "A transvestite flamenco dancer at a funeral!' Yeah, there is no way to go up from that statement. I do think Sarah deserved to go home, hers was bad. She just really struggled and ultimately gave up and designed nothing. As much as AJ's was a disaster his heart and soul was in it and he tried, bless his heart! I am guessing that is what saved him and Casanova this time around. It is hard to understand their judging at times. I mean, Sarah clearly lacked inspiration but she sent out a finished well made dress. AJ's dress, OHMYGOSH, that thing was just awful, sorry but the fringe at the 'crotch' as Michael Kors said was the worst, oh my!
You have three at the bottom for different reasons and I would love to know what in the end is the crucial deciding factor. Michael Kors says "he respected Sarah for stating that she knew her design failed" therefore we never fully understand why she gets the axe. I know it is hard, it is all subjective but it does seem to fluctuate from week to week.Ugh, I want to be a fly on the wall, don't you?
I have to admit Tim Gunn seems to be friendlier this season. He is much gentler, lighter and all around different than past seasons. I am not sure if I like it? Don't get me wrong, I never thought Tim Gunn was this mean old guy but he seemed tougher in previous seasons?? Although, it was great when he told Peach "to make the coal up her butt into a diamond!" That was tough Tim Gunn!! I know everyone loved the wooly balls comment and the giggles that came after, it was funny but I really liked Tim telling Peach to lighten up in only the way Tim Gunn can do it!
The judges and Heidi Klum really didn't say much to tickle me this week. Oh and Poor Betsey Johnson, her attempt to be funny, I mean I think she was trying to be funny, I certainly hope that was her intent, anyways, she bombed. You know what I am talking about, "the Napkin dress being perfect for a party because it is functional", ha!ha! NOT!!
Now, the fun of the show!
I loved the beginning of the show when Gretchen is yaking in her interviews that the designers like her, that they knew she deserved to win and they are all upping their game now to match her. "She raised the bar!" THEN, they cut away to the other designers calling her a bitch, saying they are over her and discussing the fact that she lacks innovation. Comments such as "I hate that bitch", "Her attitude changed between win one and win two" "If she wins again how much bigger will her head get?" "She just opened up a Urban Catalog and pulled out ideas." Those comments are not comments from a loving group, people rooting for you!! Um, yeah, I think Gretchen lives in a different world. She lives in the "EVERYONE LOVES GRETCHEN JONES WORLD" Um, that world doesn't exist for anyone else, only Gretchen (LOL).
The designers are over GRETCHEN'S shit! Valarie says she likes her and they are friends but I am wondering how long Miss Valarie is going to enjoy coming in SECOND!! Has anyone noticed how Gretchen shakes her head in agreement on the Runway when the judges are talking to the other designers? Oh, my! Now that is condescending. Did you catch Gretchen, GASP, and then state how lovely Ivy's dress was? You know like it is important for Gretchen to give her approval loudly!
It gets even nastier when the designers are stressed! The designers are back stage discussing what the judges said about their work and GRETCHEN wants to TELL IT ALL. The girl just doesn't get it. The other designers said "WE WANT TO HEAR IT FROM ANDY." Gretchen still jumped in and cut the ANDY off and AJ couldn't take it, just couldn't take it, he tries to interject again and if you noticed, miss high and mighty did not like being interrupted so what's a bitch to do?? She throws it in AJ's face that he is in the bottom. Kristin rolls her eyes at that point. It is a shame that nobody was willing to put Gretchen in her place and say, "no, we asked to hear Andy talk and you cut him off and it was mean to say that to AJ." I know everyone was feeling stressed but GRETCHEN JONES needs to be brought down and unfortunately the judges are IN LOVE with her for whatever reason.
Here would be my suggestion for Project Runway. Well, wait, let me back up, first, I am actually curious, do they know who designs what when it comes down the RUNWAY? The way the designers behave it seems the judges know who designs what!
They shouldn't know the name of the designer of the design when it comes down the runway and the designers should be instructed not to give it away. I can't help but wonder if sometimes once they get 'hooked' on someone they tend to get 'blurred' in their judging?
Oh, and I will end this as weirdly as the show ended. Ivy was taken away in an ambulance after she fainted??? I did see Heidi Klum on Regis and Kelly she mentioned the squad was called three times with this group of designers. She said that they would not eat or drink and they wore themselves out. Heidi seemed a little stunned by that behavior when discussing it on the talk show. She did not mention if anyone left because of their health! Guess we will see next week if Ivy is back!
