The Rachel Zoe Project! Tuesday, 10/9 c on Bravo
Okay, The Rachel Zoe Project premiered last night, woo-hoo!! If you follow @RealFansClub on Twitter you know I like Rachel Zoe and love The Rachel Zoe Project but please that doesn't mean you all have to follow suit! What I love about Reality Television Fans are they are brutal on Twitter and yes I said I LOVE THAT. You guys speak your mind!! I would love more of your input here too!! Anyways, my point is that I know that Rachel Zoe has her 'haters' (oh, I detest that term I like non-fans better) and I respect their opinions. On the other hand, I will admit that my posts will probably lean way more to the positive when it comes to The Rachel Zoe Project because, well, like I said, I love the show and I really like Rachel Zoe. Now, that my disclaimer has been put out there let's talk about the premiere!!
I have to admit The Rachel Zoe Project premiere knocked it out of the park with fashion, star power and drama and I wondering if they really can keep it up the entire season?? Did they pack it all into one episode?? Gosh, I hope not!!
I guess they had to start with the firing of Taylor Jacobson since she is no longer with the company and she was a big part of the first two seasons. "Oh, Taylor, what were you thinking??" Love or Hate Rachel Zoe, the woman is clearly on the move up and why would you choose to jeopardize that situation, just doesn't make sense??? But, Taylor always was an odd character. I never liked that she wore her sunglasses a lot during the show. It made me distrust her. Like she was hiding herself. "The eyes are window into your soul" and hiding your eyes says a lot. Many people tweeted that they thought Rachel was a bitch and how dare her insinuate Taylor stole!! I was surprised that Rodger was willing to share that information. I will get personal for a moment. My husband owns a company and you have to document a lot to fire a person. I am assuming in order for Rachel Zoe Inc. to fire and announce reasons on national television they have a lot of proof. Now, that being said, I am sure there were other reasons why they chose to announce it on national television. Throughout, the entire episode Rachel Zoe made it clear that she loved Taylor Jacobson but now felt "knifed" and "heartbroken". We see RacheL Zoe admit that she felt that Taylor Jacobson was "family", only to have her husband tell her that Taylor "doesn't care about you" and that Rachel Zoe needed to let it go. Rachel kept trying to tell Rodger that it was personal and he was trying desperately to tell his wife to let the personal side go, realize it was business and move on. As the episode continues we see this will be hard for Rachel Zoe. Taylor Jacobson will need to use Rachel's name to get work and those contacts will call Rachel to say, "Hey, heads up, your former assistant is working behind your back using your name." Rodger, while watching sports, (someone explain why they get so caught up in their sports, oh wait, kind of like I can't stop with my reality shows (LOL)), tries once again to say, "Rachel, this is gonna happen, just ignore it and move on." Here is the deal. Women need closure, even if we don't make up, we need that last fight or last words. Rodger fired Taylor Jacobson and Rachel Zoe needs to have a sit down with Taylor. Rodger doesn't get that, he wants to protect Rachel. I have to admit, I could relate to that scene with her husband. Unfortunately, many times I have had similar talks with my husband and he was also watching a football game!
Women need to dwell on things longer then men do, I know, sexist statement but I do think men and women are different and we handle situations differently. Also, I believe one thing men are better at, they move on better than women. In the end, Rachel tells Brad Goreski, "I just don't wish her (Taylor Jacobson) well"
Poor Brad Goreski, what a position to be in. He got a great promotion from Taylor's firing but over time he made a close friendship. Like Rachel Zoe he had come to terms with Taylor's moodiness, or so it seemed from what he tells us in interviews. We hear what Brad tells us and we also get to witness his phone chat with a friend and you can tell from that conversation that as much as he was working at a friendship with Taylor Jacobson he still bitched about her because Tracy, Brad's friend, clearly knew that Taylor was a moody bitch!! But, In the end he comes through as the good soldier and admits that Taylor might have been stealing. As viewers we are left to feel unsure. We believe they wouldn't announce it if they didn't have proof but we do hear Jordan say, "Everything came back". In the end, we have to wonder about the stealing but we do know that Taylor Jacobson was definitely moody. If you watched the first two seasons I believe we ALL could agree on that, Taylor was one Moody gal! Therefore, I was not surprised when Rachel Zoe stated this to her husband in search of a new person, " I know what I don't want, I learned from my previous experience and I don't want someone I have to worry about 'Will they yell at Jordan today?' ' Will they be mean to Brad today?' ' Will they yell at me today, for I don't know the weather?" Clearly, Rachel Zoe knew Taylor was a negative influence at work but for whatever reason Rachel put up with it. I have to admit I never understood that and I do think that upset Rodger on one to many occasions.
Now, the little things I noticed. Rachel and Rodger. Wife and husband working together. I hope they work out that issue. I do believe Rodger will be good for Rachel Zoe's company but it is her company and she is the boss! I do believe Rodger has and will have trouble with that role, you know the "My wife is my boss" role!! Once again, on a personal note. I work for my husband. When I am at the office he is the boss, I respect that and he knows it, well, he even has a little fun with it at times but my point is I know it is his company. In addition, Rachel and Rodger need to understand it is hard for employees when the wife and husband work together or when families work together. It is is hard on non-family employees. I can't wait to see how this plays out!!! I think Rachel Zoe and Rodger Berman will be just fine they have been married a long time, which means they have strong marital foundation. That is helpful before they jumped into working together but still it is hard!
Onto hiring a new assistant. Don't you think Brad Goreski should have played a roll in interviewing??? Brad should have done first interviews and then Rachel Zoe and Rodger Berman do the final interview, maybe Bravo didn't show first interviews??? But, I got the impression Rachel and Rodger did all the interviewing and Brad screened the applicants through their resumes only??? How many of you knew it was going to be Ashley??? I could tell, she just clicked with Rachel Zoe!
So, we have gone over all the drama of the show! Let us take a look at what I love about The Rachel Zoe Project, the FASHION!!!
I am telling you how do you top Demi Moore??? Are any of you old enough to remember Demi on General Hospital as Jackie??? I just love Demi and my love for her started on GH!! Was that Bazaar Shoot Awesome or what?? We must use Rachel Zoe speak!!
The Demi Moore Bazaar Shoot was TO DIE FOR!!
Here we go!!
The 1950's Housewife! Demi Moore was in a beautiful Blue "flouncy" Oscar De La Renta Cocktail Dress and Red Crystal Christian Louboutin shoes! I want that outfit. Can't afford it and I have reason to wear it but I want it anyways!!!
Oversize Chair! Chanel Cocktail Dress "White Ruffles". Who was dying when that mouse was crawling over that beautiful dress?? I know Rachel Zoe was freaking about a mouse but I was freaking it was on THE DRESS!!!
Kiddie Pool! Demi Moore looked stunning in the Navy Carolina Herrera evening gown dress.
Giraffe! Wow, the Giraffe was beautiful. Not sure if Demi Moore was annoyed with Rachel Zoe or not?? What did you guys think of that conversation about the Giraffe pooping? Demi seemed annoyed, like Rachel was being an airhead and it didn't help that Rachel had to be carried down to the beach. A little Prima Donna there. Rachel should come prepared for shoots and get flats. I think that was a little much and inappropriate on a job. Demi Moore walked down to the beach and even walked down the steps in her 12 inch shoes. She doesn't seem to act like a Prima Donna, Demi that is? Rachel, giggled and all but I am wondering if someone would not have carried Rachel would she have taken her shoes off and gotten her skinny little self down on that beach??? Anyways, Demi Moore wore a beautiful Alexander McQueen dress with 12 inch stilettos. Rachel Zoe stated, "Alexander McQueen is an iconic designer." I have to admit this dress was my least favorite. It worked with the Giraffe but just not my favorite of all the beautiful clothes we got to see.
Red Balloons! Christian Dior Red Chiffon dress with black bra. The dress was beautiful not sure I really liked it with the balloons???
I do agree with Rachel Zoe about no drama. They (meaning Bravo) tried to get a little drama out of waiting for the Marc Jacobs Bloomer outfit but Brad delivered and it was made clear it was not his fault it came incomplete. Some other drama Bravo tried to insinuate was the mouse and Demi coming down the steps, nice fake out but what will Bravo do without Taylor Jacobson and her Drama at styling shoots??
I for one enjoyed it totally without the Drama at the shoots. I love seeing all the fashion and how the shoots are shot.
I got enough of the drama with the firing and inter office issues. I also like Rachel and Rodger together.
So, the question will be can The Rachel Zoe Project continue to deliver? I think a show on Bravo needs all of it. A little drama mixed with fun and really isn't that pretty much how we all live our lives?? Drama, fun and sadness??
But, heck I loved seeing all the fashion and real star to boot!
What was your favorite dress and shot of the shoot??
