McKell Maddox Axed?!?! Yeah, I am starting right at the end! Because let's face it, that is the stunner!! I actually liked McKell's cute little blue dress BUT even if you did not you have to admit SHE CREATED something, right??
Which leads me right into saying, "Ivy Higa you are one lucky gal" How many of you thought when it came down to the final three Ivy should have been 'let go'. Talk about doing nothing. Hell, I can do what Ivy did! Give me some butt ugly pants push them up to mid calf and then add a butt ugly top and some earrings! That is what the judges decided was better than McKell's little blue dress???? Please explain?? Oh, let's not forget the challenge winner GRETCHEN JONES, YUCK!!! I thought that dress SUCKED!! Plain and I could get something similar anywhere!!
Now, wasn't the entire point of the 90 minute show about us being able to understand their judging ! We would get to see how they deliberate and really come to a conclusion??? Um, yeah, no, not so much. We saw the same old shit, only dragged out and then they turned around and axed a designer that designed!! They kept a stylist, which isn't that what the judges said while deliberating??? I mean really, Ivy STYLED an outfit, Oh, and forget it being the 'IVY SHOW', boy she better step it up!! If you watched it again, which I did to do this blog post, the judges ripped Ivy, just ripped her and even though they were not in love with McKell's Nina and Michael could see she attempted to create and stretch herself, isn't this what they PREACH on Project Runway, very confusing!!! I mean they even ripped Jason more than McKell??? Project Runway has always lacked in their consistency with judging. I always wonder if THEY ever watch what WE watch!!!
I think Michael Kors sums it up, "Do we reward the person who was safe or do reward a person that didn't work but at least tried?" And then, Heidi said, "Are we giving anyone a second chance?" Michael answered, "Yes" Those were the tailing signs. Of course, you don't know it when you are watching!! They rewarded SAFE!! They want you to PUSH IT but you still have to prove you can sew and put it all together. In their eyes McKell missed that mark, even Ivy they claimed had tailored her outfit well!! Therefore, contestants should note, sewing and tailoring go a long way before thinking outside of the box. It is like a teacher says, "You have to have the basics down, before you move to the next level"
Oh, and another little gripe, Selma Blair??? An actress should not have been allowed for this challenge! Since this was considered still auditioning they should have had someone in fashion!!!
Okay, now that I have ranted about the finale!! Shall we back up a little!!
Did you like the beginning?? I did!! I liked getting to know the designers! Here are some of my favorite parts! The cutaway to the old lady, Peach, 50 year old (ugh, old lady) that was funny!! Loved the scene with the two designers Gretchen and Jason who had nothing to say to each other, very funny and glad they kept it in. Then, Mondo tells Ivy she is cute, awkward!! The designers were unsure how to handle April's unveiling of what inspires her, Morgues??, Just loved it when she told the designers that one!! Oh, Michael and his horns, too cute!! Jason and his intimidating hate, yeah, that was funny because who thinks the hate is intimidating???
Overall, I enjoyed Project Runway!! I miss it on Bravo!! I think Bravo promotes it better AND Bravo's show that replaced Project Runway and honestly I can't even remember the name, it didn't do anything for me.
I still love Project Runway!!
I can't wait to see what Casanova creates next? C'mon he is a trip!!
